Haven't seen the bags, but Wolfman or Dirt Bagz make great soft bags to use on any big thumper. I bought a Wolfman Tank bag for my 610. Works great.

Can you post a pic of the tank bag for the 610? I'm thinking of a tank bag for my bike. Thanks in advance..

Glad I found this thread... I am about to pull the trigger on a 610 to use as a commuter and Deals Gap bike.
BTW, what kind of gas mileage are you all getting??

I think the 610 gets upwards of 50 MPG. I had the SMR450 and if I kept my hand out of the throttle (which was pretty seldom ) I could scare the hell out of 60 MPG (never seemed to quite get there though).

It will certainly be a better commuter than the 510 or the 450.

For overall performance, the 510 is a madman! If the 450 can do 104MPH with my 220lbs ass on it, the 510 has to be even beyond that.

For a commuter/canyon carver though, I'm not so sure that the 610 isn't the better choice. It's A LOT more comfortable. I guess it would depend on how much commuting vs. how much carving you wanted to do.

The guts seat kit for the 450/510 really helped quite a bit...

What did you do about the vibes?
I spent two hours plus today on the 610 riding a little bit of everything. Seems as though a bar snake, seat work, and perhaps 1 up on the front tooth would do the trick?!

I assume that 2up will also help get rid of some of the vibes as well.
I got back on my Tuono and felt like I was in a Bentley!

    I actually have ridden my SMR450 two-up...

It did fine but some fans on the radiators would help. It stalled once and I had to pull the hot start...

I kind of like those colors. When you're going by people no the street, and they hear that awesome sounding power, the colors get lost in it's thunder........at least that's how i feel, when a SMB, goes blasting by.....

It does take the vibes out (the sprocket, I mean). That's what's on my SMR.

If you have a choice, though, I'd go 2 down on the rear and 1 up in the front. The reason being is that there is a plastic guard on the front of the swingarm that the sprocket will rub on if you go 2 up in the front. It's no big deal and the sprocket will chew down the excess plastic in a few miles but still, given the choice...

    Not necessarily............

510 is better, the 6 is alot heavier and feels like it
If you're going to race it, then yes......but for street use, my vote goes to the 610SM. A MUCH friendlier maintenance schedule, screw & locknut-type adjusters on the valves, far greater reliability due to the lower state of tune, better "big-guy" ergos, and that extra weight makes a more stable bike at street speeds. Not that the 610 is a porker - mine, less the passenger pegs/mounts & stock exhaust, weighs about 300 lbs.

Given all the factors (price, performance, ergos, cost, reliability, maintenance schedule, looks), I'd say the Husqvqrna 610SMie is pretty close to the ideal street 'Tard.

Right now, Husqvarna has the "Heroes ride Huskies" deal going on. They give you $1K off the purchase price - not bad at all. My dealer (BMP) in Salem, OR, reduced the price a further $500 - so I only paid $6295 OTD (no sales tax in OR - just $114 for the DMV) for mine.

I can't get enough of the 610's combo of light weight & super-nimble handling.........I don't want to ride any of my other bikes right now. Here's a couple of pics:
