Thread: Tuono air box ??

    It's a resonator used only to reduce intake noise for EPA sound pressure levels. The bike must be below a certain maximum level for total noise..not just the exhaust.

    Rip it out.

    I just put a K&N in mine (2003 Tuono) so i thought i'd take the inlet out and have a look:-
    It splits in half and you can just take out the resonator tube, i then blanked off the hole by cutting a piece of plastic to shape, obviously this doesn't give you increased air flow like the older one would but hopefully it will smooth out the air flow and if nothing else more noise is always a good thing...

    Also removed the baffle from the stock can (will replace it at a later stage) and cut the blue/green wire, any idea what sort of improvement i can expect ??

    I also removed the resonator from my intake today.
    Unfortunalty when i was putting my airbox back together this nut fell out of my bike onto my garage floor.
    I have NO IDEA where it came from.

    ANyone have any ideas???

    thats one of them bolts for supporting the screws for the top cover of the airbox isn't it.

    yeah i found where it goes now. I was looking around the engine. Its the front nut for the top of the airbox.

    What is the difference that you feel riding it now??
