    Dextroyer + Mattology = RMV125 Gen 3

I met Matt and his dad at BMP (Bushnell Motorsports Park, a kart track) when they were out running their RMV125's (RS50 w/CR125 swap).

I rode Matt's bike. We became buddies. Now I am building one of my own with his assistance!

I brought over a motor from a 1997 CR125 I bought as a donor bike and we got to work on his spare roller that has sat for ages.

The first major surgery was to pull the swingarm and notch it to accept the CR motor. Oil infused brass bushings for the arm and a 3D printed nylon insert for the engine cases yielded a fantastic fit.

While Matt was busy with the power tools I stayed busy tearing everything I could apart and dextroying bolts as needed.

The front cradle was hacked up and welded back together to hold the motor and soon a bracket for the RS125 radiator was on order

At this point the major cutting and welding is finished. The motor and radiator are mounted solidly. Matt felt it was okay for me to load up the bike and all the parts and take it home.

Having an RSV4 in the garage I felt compelled to order race plastics for the RS4 125 four stroke model that utilizes the same frame spars.

I ordered an RS4 subframe so the rear bolted on easily. The shock bolts to the subframe at a different point, I feel it may have lifted the rear a bit more than anticipated. The old RS50 tank setup is not meshing well with the new rear section and seat though.

I acquired a couple RS4 specific mounting bits and drilled some aluminum bar stock to accommodate them. Having a TIG would be awesome right now but it will wait. I mounted the fill panels that go under the saddle and attach to the tank cover that I ordered. Most likely just going to have a tank made since the RS4 tank has a big ugly fuel pump in it that is unnecessary.

what about an RS4-50 tank? it's still a carbureted two stroke..

Get your confidence back with Aprilia.

caution: the use of motorcycles may be habit forming. side effects include purchasing multiple examples of the same bike, in different states of tune, different years, or different models altogether. some motorcycles may be not running when purchased. some parts are no longer available. there are rare instances where aprilias are bought over the internet and upon arrival, they are not as were originally disclosed. there is a small group of people who cannot handle two stroke engines and motorcycle maintenance. if this is the case, you may not be a candidate for Aprilia RS250's.

Aprilia. Ask your doctor if the RS250 is right for you.

    Dextroyer -

If you've got a spare gas tank I'm in the market. Mine is cracked and some plastic welding didn't fix it.

Yeah I don't think I am going to use the OEM RS50 tank. The RS4 cover came in.

as for the RS4 50 2t tank, it looks like the 4t. Not sure if that big cupholder looking indentation is an opening or not.

Today I got the new Mitas MC50 tires mounted, the tank cover and fill panels mounted proper, and a good taste of the ergonomics of the RS4. I'm 6ft and 200lbs and have a 6'4" wingspan. I like how it is but I will switch back to OEM bars instead of clipons because I think the clipons will interfere with the race nose.

    Lookin' good man!

I picked up my donor motor today in the form of a complete Stock Moto shifter kart plus spares. So I'll be starting my build soon.
