Power without a proper gearing is nothing. Maybe for canyone riding it was fine, untill you spot some Dorsoduro, Mt-03 or another newer machine with bigger engine, and SXV is smoked

Originally it was invented as a track bike with road legal addition, and in my opinion it should be treated like that.

btw - because lack of development and no changes since almost 10 years, competition is so hugde that for example Husqvarna FS450 is just a better bike (engine probably as well) than SXV
You're riding the wrong roads if you can smoke EVERTHING on a SXV550...

ok. I can get a 19 tooth gear made for the sxv. plan is to run rxv 1st gear for better starts and then the longer 5th gear. Does anyone want one made? Is 21/19 the best option to go or even 18/17? Thoughts?

I'd be interested, but I wouldn't want to beta test it.

    Was this directed at me?
Actual rear sprocket on my bike is 46, I don't know where 38 came from.

You are in Poland do you know of pikes peak?
    A stock sxv550 crushed all 2 wheel contenders in 07 and 08
All includes 1000, and 1200cc bikes.

Also, you have a 450, 550 has much better power.

My 550 has a little more, Del west valves for crf250 (oversized) heads ported and chambers unshrouded by the late Ron hamp (a man responsible for 75hp crf) custom Cp pistons, bored 41.5mm throttle body's. I think if I removed the front rod/piston, cam, and injector it would still be faster than drz by a bit.
So we are talking about two different bikes here I guess.

In my local canyons crushing sport bikes is cake. Even when the bike was stock
An mt03? Are you sure your throttles open all the way?
I crush my friends fz09 soon as we hit the first turn, I haven't dragged them yet.

I'm not even a half arsed supermoto racer, I am a veteran mx and off road rider, and expert mtb racer. Crushing sport bikes in the canyon is the only reason I have this bike.... If you cant well, check that your throttle opens, check your tune, something must be wrong with your bike, or your Canyon has no turns.....l

    Also,
    On big track
Sxv would shit on an fs, would look just the same

On small track the lighter weight and better low end torque will tip things towards the FS.

A 17 will eat the swing arm, how do to plan to fit a 19?

He is talking about a new 21/19 gear set for fifth gear, not countershaft.

Ok, i'll get some spares made and I'll test it. Allen my 17s are machined down to avoid swingarm.

Perhaps contact Dirk at ACT, he used to do wide ratio sets for crfs. Perhaps he would be useful as he has the resources to reverse engineer/engineer and mfg gears like these.
