    Rear Brake Pads

I have the service manual but the rear pin wont budge...without next level force. I want to make sure I dont go the wrong path.

2018 LE. Wheel is off. Changing rotors and installing new Ferodo pads.

Do I just squeeze the U of the safety spring which relieves pressure on the pin and it pushes out?

There is no allen or tool recess in the large part of the pin, so it appears to just push out?

There is a small E-clip on the back of the pin. remove that, then release spring clip pressure & push the pin out from the back.

This is a retainer clip for the rearbrake pad pin used on the above listed models. This clip is normally only available as part of the complete pin kit AP8113752 which is 5 times more expensive.

Thanks Plocky. I did remove the stock, junk clip and will be replacing with a proper E clip. I'm not sure how to exactly relieve pressure on the pin by depressing the safety spring.

I tried simply pushing it twds the pin but it's stout and didnt move. Should it push twds the pin by hand? And the pin just pushes out?

I'm concerned if so hard to remove, how tough to reinstall.

This isnt mine but for reference:

Ok; sorry I may have mislead you to think you can just push on the spring.
you need to release the pressure pushing the pin out.

Best to quote amauri, he's done many.

After the pin is out, you will need to remove the caliper and replace the pads, putting the pin and anti rattle spring back together correctly.
