    Prediction Corner

There are some interesting feuds playing out this season and here's a track with actual potential to throw some curve balls. With a sunny weekend planned, let's see how things might just take a turn for the more interesting:

Matchup: Marc vs. The Ducati Machine
    Prediction: Marc wins it
Analysis: Adjusting for the actual track that will be raced this weekend (egg on face): The Ducati is strong at this venue. Last year Lorenzo won on it, making Marquez the meat in a Ducati sammich with Dovi pulling in third. The year before that Dovi took the top step. This year the GP19 is fast as ever and Dovi has good support in that Petrucci is fast enough to win and can be a foil and interrupt Marc's rhythm. The fly in that ointment is that Marc is riding very strong this year, and for all the risks he takes seems to be riding pretty smart. I don't think he gets an early lead and takes off, but bides his time for the first 2 or 3 laps (earlier than previously predicted) until his tires are hot then makes his move. The Ducatis keep him honest for most of the race, but he ultimately pips it.

Matchup: Yamaha vs. Yamaha - Factory against Satellite
Prediction: Factory wins it with Vinalez
Analysis: A little tougher one because this year the Yamaha performance has been so all over the place. Do you know how hard it was to even find a shot with two of them together? It either pours down rain or is sunny days with these teams when it comes to race day. Rossi's best recently was a 2nd place 3 years ago. For the past two Yamaha has struggled to place in the top 5, with Zarco giving them a 5th place 2 years ago and Rossi coming in 6th last year. This year I predict that Rossi leads the factory charge again, with Qartararro breathing down his neck in the latter parts of the race.

    Matchup: Aprilia vs KTM
Prediction: KTM by a wide margin
Analysis: This one's pretty cut and dry. KTM's been eating Aprilia's lunch here for the last 2 years, beating them to the top 10, a fact which doesn't bode well in a season where they're already struggling. There are plenty of rumors floating around on a radically new bike for next year, which may be a good sign that the new management team is finally ready to put their stamp on the bike and may bode well... for next year. In the here and now Aleix has had a horrid time with it this season while Pol has been a man on a mission. Zarco has managed a front row start in conditions that maybe taught him a few things about how the KTM needs to be ridden. Look for Pol in the top 10 again this year with Aprilia struggling to stay in the points.

As was said during FP2 Marc is on a mission to win here, only track he hasn't won at yet, and he can afford to take some risks.

Taaka serving Cal some crow in FP2 was funneh.

I am gunna put it out there and say that mm will win two more titles with Honda to equal the hated ones record. Then jump ship to another bike. I’m gunna say Suzuki or Ducati. Yuall heard it here first.

I'm hoping Fab gets honorary first place tomorrow!

Kind of surprising to learn the former lap record holder was Iannone with a 1'23.142

This is going to be another one of those races where the camera stops following MM because he's so far out front.

That's what most people thought would happen at Cota. Its racing so nothing is ever a foregone conclusion
