    R.I.P. RSVRRider (Paul Neves)

    Sad news,
We recently lost a member and a friend to a collision with a car a few weeks ago.
Paul Neves (RSVRRider) was riding west on Hwy 84 (Woodside, Ca.) on his motorcycle when a truck coming the other way, turned left in front of him. The driver claimed he didn't see Paul.
At first, it looked like (to first responders) that it was just a broken leg, but he died of internal bleeding on the way to the Hospital...

Paul leaves behind a wife and two young daughters (which breaks my heart)
Please people, stay safe, and always, ALWAYS stay alert and keep looking and scanning for the guys in cars,
that are trying to kill you !

    Rest in Peace Paul

Tragic. So sorry for his wife and sweet kids.

No matter how diligent and watchful we are about cars on the road, it still happens that we can't avoid or see one coming. Almost ten years ago a gal pulled a U-turn in front of me. I nearly lost my life, bleed out from a punctured lung and broke most of the bones on my upper left side and both arms, spent a month at Harborview in Seattle.

It happens in an instant. Life is so frail.

Tireatr, I'm with you. If a fund is set up for his family, please let us know.

Hits so close to home, RIP. In for the fund, post info if it happens.

Anyone who uses the defense they didn't see the motorcycle should be declared legally blind by their own admission and never be allowed to drive again.

RIP Rider. Sad, Sad, Sad. Leaving a beautiful family.
I'm with Capo on the "I didn't see him" defense. Bikes have had daylight running lights for decades. I'm so done with the distracted drivers out there who just are so into their lives they cannot waste their time driving responsibly.

Tragic - truly saddened for all that knew him.

As a military instructor pilot, I really dug into the phenomenon of seeing/doing without registering the action. It's exponentially exacerbated by any distraction.

I'm quite certain the driver saw him, it just didn't register. My money is on a smartphone being involved.

Look up, and it's clear, look back down for what seems like only a second or two (probably 15-20) and then pull out because it was clear a second or two ago.

Watch that front wheel of the side-street car, and have a plan if it moves.

That's the worst, those girls losing their dad. I hope a good attorney will help somehow but the damage is done. Very sad.

Face reality, or perish, I guess.
