    Engine backfires then stalls.

    I have a 2013 rsv4 that I just installed a power commander. When I went to start it,it fired right up and then backfired and stalled. Tried to start it again and it would just stall. Anyone ever encounter this or have a solution to trouble shoot it?

    First thing I would do is uninstall the pcv and see if the bike is responding like normal. Odds are the wiring harness that goes between the injectors and pcv is having an issue or a defective module if you have the proper map pre loaded. Imo i'm not a fan of pcv units but they do work. I'm more of a fan bazzaz or rapid bike units if you have to use a piggyback type module preferably rapidbike.

    My bike was misfiring and running poorly and i checked and cleaned my plugs. After i put them back it would stay running, then wouldnt start and just backfired so i changed my plugs and this fixed it. It had been in storage for a few years and want started. I put CR9EB into my bike.
    Have you unplugged the Power Commander to see what she does without it? Could be the MAP installed on it, maybe. Not been on their site for a while but when i had an R1 you could download a generic map onto the Power Commander and then id take it to a rolling road for tweaking.

    Have remove the power commander and is still doing the same. I'm wondering if I switched the fuel injector wiring around. Does anyone know which goes to each injector or have a wiring diagram to see if that's the problem?

    Injection connectors.
    Cylinder 1 Left rear = Black
    Cylinder 2 Left front = Brown
    Cylinder 3 Right rear = Green
    Cylinder 4 Right front = Light grey (almost white).
    Same colors for upper & lower injectors.

    I wrote the colours on my airbox lid when i took them off...proper paranoid....lol

    Best to retrace your steps, especially if it ran good before the power commander endeavor.

    You likely cracked an injector electrical socket. I see this OFTEN with Bazzaz and PCV on the Aprilia V4 motors as there is next to zero available real estate under the tank. I’ve probably replaced 6 injectors this year already. Wiggle each connector gently, if one attached to a fuel injector moves much at all, likely broken.

    Oh oh and make damn sure all fuel hose quick connectors are FULLY plugged in.

    Final test as others have stated, unplug PCV from injection and retest.

    I have removed pc and checked the wire harness and they were all connected correctly,how can I check for cracked injector harness? Wiggled the connectors and all seam fine.

    Water in a spray bottle, start bike, squirt headers, find the cold one....replace injector if needed.

    Also, it's easy to get the rear bank coil connectors backwards. There's a page in the manual that tells how to determine which one is which.
