    Ecu Question

I have a 2015 RSV4 Factory. Why does my ecu come back as a 2013?

201hp RR and RF was not until 2016 in the US. It's confusing since EU got their RR/RF in 2015. We are a year behind.

The HW100 ECU indicates you have a '14 or earlier engine with ~186Hp, the '14 was sold in the USA as '15.
The Euro '15 RR/RF was the first of the 201Hp models & was sold in the USA as '16 RR/RF, this is the 201Hp model as well as the '16.5, '17, '18.

Most noticeable difference when looking at them, is the 201Hp model RR & RF have a dipstick for oil, there is no oil sight glass.
The mirrors are also different & much better on these bikes.
A close look at your avatar shows the older mirrors and the Ohlins forks indicate it is an RSV4 Factory. So it's a '14 Euro sold as a '15 USA.

You can see the difference in mirrors at >>https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/...=1#post3993943

Just to complete this thread for the OP, if you still are not sure which engine is in your bike, there is an engine family identification stamped on the back of the gearbox, just above your engine number.

This quote from amauri sums it up perfectly.

    2015-16 RSV4 is V4-E
    2017-? RSV4 is V4-H
    2019 RSV4-1100-Factory engine is a V4-M

    2011-14 TV4-1000 is V4-TY
    2015-16 TV4-1100 is V4-G
    2017-? TV4-1100 is V4-L

I always include the V4x when I write down the engine's serial number on any document.
Also very important to know what type of engine to look for when buying a used one.
