    Mojito engine

    Hi all!
    New member here
Bought a 2001 mojito which Iím gonna collect next week.
Owner says it needs a new crank. Looked at parts and they are not the cheapest so I decided to stick ina second hand engine. Problem is all the engines I found are 2003 onwards and according to my research they might not fit the 2001 scooter.
My question is: what engine/engines fit this 2001 model ?
    Thanks in advance
    maak

They should all be the same basic Aprilia/Morini 50cc engine since all years (1999 through 2004) list the same cylinder, head, crankshaft and crankcase regardless of the variation of pollution equipment and carburetor on them. There may be some differences inside the CVT too depending on the year and speed restrictions in place for the country it was destined for but those will be related to spacers inside the variator and the like.

Check out the parts listings and you will see whats different between years and countries on the Aprilia/Morini 50cc engine.

The 125 was not until 2003 at least here in the US so it makes sense that all the 125's would be 2003 or newer. From 1999 to 2002 they only had 50cc Morini powered Mohitos.

Still they only list one crankcase and engine mounting rod for all variations of the 125 and 150cc Mohito engines made from 2003 through 2007 though the carburetors and such were different through the years based on pollution controls and countries they were designed for.

You can check out the differences using the 125 and 150 cc Mohito parts listing at the following link:
