    Canada here... My first Aprilia

Having ridden for nearly 50 years I have owned over 40 bikes and have a large collection of late 70's - late 80's Japanese superbikes.

Pulled the trigger on my first Aprilia just this week. Love the RSVR with carbon bits and full Ohlins treatment.

This low miler (8,000k / 5,000 miles) 2005 was owned by a former NHL hockey player who parked it 5 or 6 years ago. It was built by a short-lived AP dealer here in Winnipeg. They only lasted a year or two. They are still around but just sell, tires, helmets etc. They did this to be their show bike. The "Evil Dead" / Skulls airbrush job with their logo is not my style and I will probably opt for the more incognito factory plastics that were included in the deal. No upgrades 'cept for the LV titanium cans. They appear mint.

Fuel was left in the tank but either it's Aspen or they used a decent stabilizer as it doesn't smell rotten. Will drain and do the upgrade to new internal hose kit (I hear it was a recall or upgrade? Not sure if it was ever done but the hoses probably need replacement) Other than that it will need new battery and fluids and it should be good to go. Oh, except for a puking left fork seal. The Ohlins forks are beyond my skill level (my first bike with Ohlins front end) and I have a red seal mechanic buddy who I will task this with. He's also Rotax certified so I'm lucky there.

Love the bike but the rear brake looks pretty puny. I'm sure there are upgrades.

    Any tips?

    Wayne

You could ask the mods to move it or just repost it there.

Posted some pics of the collection along with a re-post of this topic on RSVR thread. Here's one of them.

I have a kz1300 but the rubber grommets for the carbs are bad and I haven't been able to find any. Any chance you might know where I can find some. Nice collection by the way.
