Failed fuel sensor on Scarabeo 150?

The fuel gauge on my 150 has been working intermittently. I suspect that the float is getting stuck when the engine gets hot. I've tried to disassemble it, but have probably made the issue worse (plastic housing at the bottom twists, but I haven't yet successfully pulled it apart. Before I go order a new one (and wait 6 weeks, since it's back-ordered), I was hoping that someone may have had success with opening it up/inspecting/repairing it.

sometimes the fuel sensor gets dirty and the moving float arm gets stuck in place so the float wont work as it should. Try pullig it out and give it a good clean and inspect that the contacts are not worn down.

Thanks for this-what’s a good cleaning solution, Seafoam? The contacts look fine.

Could you send me a few pics, or post them here?
I’d love to see what’s inside the cylinder. My light works intermittently, but I can tell that the float is getting hung up on something inside.
