    Terrible crash in NH

Found this article this morning. Thought it was worth sharing. 7 motorcyclists dead in one accident?!? I wonder how it happened?

fuk dude. that sucks. how does that even happen.
Either the bikes all lost it and target fixated into the truck, or the truck went wrong and ran into them.

Such a tragedy and a wake up call. Hitting 6 bikes spaced far enough apart for safety would be difficult. Unfortunately, many group rides end up looking like a parade. From the story it looks like they all left the lodge as a group and got hit right after. The pictures show the bikes very close together, poor riders never had a chance.

My family rides together all the time and this shakes you to the core. But we are close but staggered right and left. We also maintain a speed that allows us to maneuver an escape. If this group was riding @ 90% they were committed to their line and had nowhere to go and no time to get there. Motorcycles always lose to the cagers.
Ride in peace forever my brothers and sisters. May your families grow peace from their sorrow.

That was a bad one. RIP.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

Looks as if the truck hit the bikes on a sweeping bend, you would think a large group of bikes would be easy to see. Generally most large bike groups are close together when leaving a prior destination, and spread out on the ride. Truck drivers version will be interesting. Bloody sad for the riders and their families. Out in a group enjoying live on a motorcycle, thats what biking camaraderie is all about.

From the local Boston CBS station: "There was a pickup truck with a flatbed trailer heading west and he crossed the yellow line and tried to swerve back and his trailer jackknifed and wiped out [the] people on the motorcycles,” said Jerry Hamanne, who owns The Inn at Bowman nearby."

When I was younger I was afraid I'd die riding. Now that I'm old and falling apart, I'm afraid I won't.

Don't know how many of you know New Hampshire's two lanes but they wind through the oak and maple forests and you can't see around most corners.
A Harley at 90% is with the floor boards less than 1" from the asphalt.
Literally no where to go on those roads if someone crosses over. They probably didn't see it coming.

This horrid accident made our head line TV news, that truck was towing a very large long trailer.

I heard from a local that the driver was texting and blew the turn, wiping out the entire posse of bikers who were stopped on the side of the road. They were not moving and were parked on the shoulder.

Two locals have confirmed this, though I can neither confirm nor deny this is what actually happened. Only stating what I was told.
