Decent bike?, found an 03 with 27k for $2000

How good are these bikes? I like the "adventure" style bikes. I currently own an 07 Triumph Tiger. Looking for a second bike to purchase.

Once you have sorted a few problems
    Put better reg ( cbr600)
Get rid of brown wiring blocks
Check petrol disconnects ( change to metal)
    Put a few better earths

There great and once sorted run fine and it’s surprisingly easy to do big mileage in a day

I am considering another and plan on almost $2000 worth of upgrades if I get it to squash all the possible downfalls. Does that sound like a lot? Where can you find an incredible handling bike that is so reliable and long lived once sorted out for about $5000 typical cost? You can't. And these bikes go 200,000 miles without problems. And they fly the front wheel in first and second with a twist of the grip....

    This ^

$2-3k these days gets you a worn out Grom, a questionable scooter or some hacked up circa 80s UJM someone thinks is a collector's item.

I sat on the Capo and first thought, hey-my knees aren't touching my ears.
What do you mean -why do I have 2 ETV Caponords? I also have 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 legs, 2 eyes and 2 butt cheeks, I don't see the problem.

    CapoETV:

That one looks like it has Michelin Road Five's on it so that's $600 worth of "I don't have to do that".

No kidding. Some stuff just puts real nice icing on the deal. Even if you aren't paying for it in the offer who passes on dessert?

I have a 2003. Some upgrades have been done, but there are a few ones here I don't recognize. Better grounds? (earths?) which ones? where? And the brown wiring blocks?
PO replaced the plastic petrol taps.
Overall, the wrenches at Desmoto have gone over it twice and said it's ok....

I should add, I like mine overall. There is not a huge amount of bottom end torque; it's too easy to stall off the line. I wish it had heavier flywheels. And the shifting is a tad clunky compared to some bikes, but overall it's pretty good.

Just ride it. When the rains come back around tackle stuff like better ground wires and better wires to starter etc. The brown connectors aren't the problem, the condition of the wiring inside the connectors can be. On the left side under the side panel there is one of the connectors leading from the VR. Desmotot probably checked them and maybe the PO paid attention there since they did the fuel connectors.

If you have contact for the PO maybe ask if they know about anything else done. You might have it all good.
