2011 Shiver 750 Mystery pipe (breather?)

    Hi guys,

I haven't had my Shiver very long so not too familiar with all the parts just yet so was hoping someone could help me out. I was poking around the bike after removing my battery which just died today, and I noticed this pipe near the battery tray not connected to anything. It has a small hose clamp on the end and was very close to a male piece that looked like it should be connected to. Can anyone please confirm what this is and if it indeed should be connected?

In the first photo I have moved the pipe to make it more visible. In the second photo you can just see the male piece above the rear cylinder head.

Sorry for the photo quality - can try for better ones if anyone can help me. Thanks.

I reckon it's not a breather and that it's a fuel overflow or water run off pipe which should connect to that little spout but I could be wrong.

Yep, there's a plastic tray that sits under the fuel pump and catches any dribbles; that hose is the drain and attaches to the underside of the tray.

The breather hoses off the fuel tank also drain into that tray.
