    Ktm 390

Saw one of those little sport bikes dashing down the road yesterday. Sounded pretty angry too. Nice looking.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

I rode a 390 Duke at a KTM demo days and quite liked it. In fact, for my usual little run I think it would be about perfect. We have a tight canyon road called Golden Gate here that I could do on the Tuono entirely in 2nd. That 390 would be a hoot.

    That is an RC390.

I have a Duke 390 and I use it more than the Tuna. Far less mileage though. Great fun.

The rear shock has a progressive spring which was to soft for my bulk. Shock and spring have been replaced. A little extra preload in the forks and it's good to go. Brakes, Brembo copies, are excellent on the street. Gearing is a little low but a few teeth of the rear sprocket sorts that. For something that costs a quarter of a Tuna it produces a lot more than a quarter of the fun.

I had an RC390. Fun ride. Quality control was poor. Dealer support was abysmal.

I think they are an awesome little bike, i had fun riding with these 2 guys on a KTM only Track day, they get around the track pretty quick, but down the main straight they could only manage 167kph.Click image for larger version.

RC390s are cool bikes. Unfortunately they seem to have motor problems eventually when raced though - like parts falling out of the bottom problems.

I know Ari Henning was building an RC390 up and racing it, and it went POP often. Judging by instagram he gave up on it.

One of my riding partners had one, when he was in the mood he was a hand full to keep up with but it was fun. Then he blew the head on it and sold it .
