This is under my seat. The solenoid setup was done by the guy before me. The solenoid itself is new, but seems to be sticking. The cross-wire fuse in the middle of the terminals is 30a. This all worked fine until the starter motor started going out I think. The battery is only a couple months old as well. Stator is brand new, just did that job with an oil change 2 weeks ago

Also to clarify: where the red wire is going is the starter motor, correct?

    Yes.
The mounting bolt on the left bottom of the starter is where I bolt the extra ground cable back to the battery negative terminal using the bolt in the parts photo and two copper washers top and bottom of the terminal so the bolt has a little crush. I cleaned the top of the starter mounting flange under the bolt with a Scotch Brite pad and some laquer thinner just before assembly so it has the best electrical contact.

It looks like your cables are 4ga and that solenoid is kick ass if made in the USA. I would suspect the starter motor at this point or a corroded ground connection.
My tool storage under the pillion is loaded with tools. Solenoid there not possible.

Do yourself a favor and disconnect that ground wire from the battery if you are working on the bike. A positive cable is an ugly thing to leave loose. If any tool completes the circuit between battery and any other part of the bike. Instant short. I use a pieces of foam rubber that I cut a slit into and always slide the battery cables into them right after I remove them from the battery.

    Negative off first, on last.

Oh, I was in the process of disconnecting the terminals when I took that. They were only temporarily on while I was checking something

Looks like my starter is crispy too. I'll try a rewind service. Comes right after your initial post about this, comes in 3s so who is next?
What do you mean -why do I have 2 ETV Caponords? I also have 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 legs, 2 eyes and 2 butt cheeks, I don't see the problem.

It looks like the starter for the Bombardier and Can Am 990 Rotax is the same and about $150 less expensive too. Another option might be the starter for the BMW F650 which is also used for the Pegaso. If the current draw is the same it will probably work and be much less expensive.

I doubt Aprilia spec'd a unique starter for the Capo, after all they didn't make the engine either.
