    Considering a used 250... questions

    After traveling to Italy and Netherlands and seeing these 3 wheelers everywhere, Iíve decided to purchase a used one here in Kentucky. I located a nice 2008, 11,000 miles, 2nd owner who purchased it in 2010. New tires, new battery. No modifications, and I know where itís serviced.

    i know very little about scooters, especially this one. Any tips on what I need to check out and what might be a reasonable price? He wants $2500.

    Whell best guess is that you get a friend that knows about them to check it out with you, since thaat is difficult you will have to test it yourself.
    The ride should be precise and easy, no steering notch and the front tyres have to align perfectly. Also check the bike if the steering lock works and all the buttons if they work perfectly. Make sure it wasnt a front side crash. If the bike is serviced regulary then it should be good.
    The threewhealers are complicated and can be expansive if the front wheel system is damaged or neglected so keep a eye open.

    when you turn the steering there should be a smooth feeling no notches or freeplay, if you have a notch then the bearing is damaged which can be expansive to repair, the same is if you have freeplay in the steering which indicates to worn down parts in the front wheel assembly. Its not really a problem on a serviced bike because in the service you have to grease the lubrication points on the front steering assembly so it shoudnt be a problem, but if it wasnt done sometimes the components wear down and you get a money pit.
