That my backyard. If you want a guided tour let me know. If you want a list, can do that too. Most of the good stuff from there is away from Boone.

I can't think of any that are not obvious but Hickory Nut Gap Road is interesting and 194 over to Valle Crucis is mandatory.

Four arrived today. Three more tomorrow.
Ran over US221 to Blowing Rock for dinner at Six Pence.
    Returned via the BRP. (Pic)
Enjoyed Hickory Nut Gap as a loop back.

Tomorrow we shall explore beyond Boone !

I trout fished and floated Wilson creek too many times to remember. Put lots of miles on a new '84 500 Interceptor up that way as well.

    Found some 'new-to-us' roads today.
Indeed, The Snake (US421) was an epic ride,
even at a non 'Prospected' pace. ;-)

I wouldn't steer you wrong Blue. Rt. 421 is the best road in the area right now with that glass pavement. Racetrack smooth last Thursday.

If you come over towards Little Switzerland ride 226A, then come into Mitchell county and ride Double Island, 197, 226 to TN 107, 173 to 19E then 19e to Roan Mtn (TN 143/NC261 back to Spruce pine and the BRP or 221 to Banner Elk.

So yes tireatr, we did 226A, 226, TN107 & 173, us331 today. As well as all of NC80.
    We did TN143/NC261 yesterday.
Been doing some 221 & BRP each day, but this afternoon the BRP was bumper slogging.

Is all of 197 paved ? Double Island ?

Enjoyed lunch, Korean food, at the Red Chili, in Elizabethton.

Shulls Mill Rd was a Gem !

Shills mill is fun before the summer cages come and drive over the double yellows. 197 N of Burnsville is paved and nice. It becomes TN 395 into Erwin. 197 S of Burnsville is gravel with switchbacks. Double Island is a blast but it looks like it comes off 19E but it really starts at the Micaville Loop road that takes you to 80 S. If you want to meet up Sunday pick a time and I can be at the LS cafe/bookstore. I am 3 miles from there.

A generous offer we just missed, as yesterday morning we were there.
    Thanks.

It’s a racetrack, but at times heavily patrolled.
