Parting out 2004 Tuono (inc. OZ wheels, Ohlins shock, carbon bits, etc.)

Edit 7/30/19: all parts are now boxed up and will be in storage. The parts listed in the tables below will remain available but may take a few days for me to access. If you need anything please send me a PM. Thanks all for helping me part this bike out - I’m really glad that so many parts went to great members of the community.

The time has come for me to part out my Gen 1 Tuono. It is a 2004 with approximately 30,000 miles (I did not note exact mileage when I last parked it, unfortunately). A couple months ago after a nice ride up to the top of Angeles Forest Highway, I decided to check the valves and saw a cracked front cam retainer. After much deliberation I have decided to part the bike out because I just don't have the aptitude or time to get it back to its former glory. To provide some history, here's the original for sale post for the bike [https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/...uono-to-trade], and here is the sale post from when my father purchased it from the second owner [https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/...2#post3821072]. I bought the bike from my father when he got a Gen 2 Tuono to replace it. Here's a recent photo that shows the configuration before the bike was parked:

Below is a table which describes the parts I have available, provides a brief description of each part, and includes prices. The bike is currently completely disassembled in my garage. As I clean things up and take photos, I'll add image links to each specific part. For now, I want to get things listed so that I can prioritize getting photos of parts that people need. I have done my best to accurately and fully describe each part, and will photograph any damage or issues. Unless otherwise noted, all parts were fully functioning when the bike was parked in the fall of 2018. Since then the bike has been on a stand in my garage. Fasteners have been kept threaded into the respective female thread where possible; if you want something and need a specific fastener be sure to let me know.

If you are interested in something but do not see it listed, let me know and I will confirm whether I have it. Prices below do not include shipping. Note that for larger items (e.g., frame+swingarm, engine), I would strongly prefer to not ship. For reference I am based in Long Beach, CA. I've done my best to price the below items based on what I feel would be fair market values. As always, reasonable offers will be considered particularly for local buyers or people interested in multiple items.

Hopefully parting out this bike can keep some other Gen 1s happily on the road for a little longer. Thanks for your interest!

    Engine/cooling/etc.
Complete engine for parts Has approx 30k miles, front head has cracked cam retainer resulting in no clearance at one of the intake valves. Rear cylinder valves all in spec. Front cylinder head will need to be replaced and it is possible the piston contacted the valve but I have not gotten further into the motor to inspect. Good for parts or a good candidate for a rebuild if you're more handy than I am. Aside from a known front valve cover gasket leak and a very small leak from the clutch pushrod seal, there are no other known issues with the motor. It ran very strong until the day it was parked. I don't want to tear the motor apart and would prefer to sell whole as pictured. There is no clutch slip, no transmission issues, and no sprag or starter issues. Sorry, not willing to ship. $175 https://imgur.com/a/jqcGo80
Oil cooler Fins mostly in good shape, no leaks. $25 https://imgur.com/a/vYlC4Rk
Oil tank (stainless) Purchased from a forum member in the fall with plans to paint it black and install, no longer need it. Not in perfect shape but a cool item that doesn't come up too often. Looks like it may have some "oil can" denting on the back side, but I do not have another stainless tank to compare it to. $40 https://imgur.com/a/As3Q9PL
Throttle bodies Stock throttle body assembly in good shape. Includes idle adjustment screw (hard to find), and recently replaced fuel send line. One throttle body boot shows minor cracking, the other is in great shape. $85 https://imgur.com/a/3Qho3Jj

    Suspension/steering/controls
Lower triple clamp Upper clamp is sold; includes lower clamp only with bearings, top cap, etc. Has one gouge/scratch and some marks but functions well. $35 https://imgur.com/a/Hq8iFnl
Sachs shock Approx 30k miles, works well with no obvious issues, includes stock spring. I have a set of links I can throw in - I believe this allows the use of the Sachs shock on older Milles but should be confirmed by an expert. $40 https://imgur.com/a/mk2ZLBu
Clutch M/C, line, and slave Includes everything EXCEPT lever. Good condition, slave seal recently replaced with OEM, no leaks. Since photographing this has been disassembled into the M/C, line, and slave - willing to sell these individually so PM me if you only need one of these items. $70 https://imgur.com/a/001tGrZ
    Bodywork
Seat Excellent condition, purchased new ~1 yr ago from AF1 and used little since then. Runs ~$107 from AF1 $75 https://imgur.com/a/qrR9ct4
Plastic Tuono gas tank Purchased about a year ago and has been drying out since then in my garage with the fuel pump removed to get it as dry as possible. Black with red 'R' graphic. I planned to Cadwell coat the interior of this tank, then run it. Includes fuel pump which apparently worked when I purchased it but I have never used this tank. I removed an Aprilia-brand (I believe) tank protector in poor shape, and you can faintly see the outline of where it used to be so you may want to install another protector. Small chip on lower portion of tank near the seat, and some chips near front mount. One vent line is missing - it was not included with the tank when I purchased it. Overall the tank is in very good condition. $100 https://imgur.com/a/BUwh3Ii
Undertail piece (AP8178250) Brand new undertail plastic piece that goes right under the taillight, recently purchased from AF1 in Black. Runs $40 new. $25 https://imgur.com/a/I1kBTNz

    Frame Parts
Frame + swingarm Overall in good functional shape, some scratches from lowside and small ding in swingarm from rearsets making contact. Swingarm shows wear near fender. Tracks straight, no issues with stability or handling at speed. Includes dogbone. If it were me I'd do the swingarm bearings and dogbone bearings while the frame is off. Includes CA title (bike is currently registered non-op). I don't have the tool to separate the swingarm so selling together. Local pickup only. $60 https://imgur.com/a/5bd7fdA
Subframe Good condition overall. Includes quick-release seat pins. Can also throw in a new mounted but not ridden plastic undertail (AP8149033) I bought a couple of months ago from AF1 for just over $35 for an additional $20. Subframe has some light overspray from where PO painted tailsection mesh black without removing it from the bike. $30 https://imgur.com/a/W5Axq4e
Kickstand Missing/removed arm which makes for a sleek look. Otherwise in good shape. $20 https://imgur.com/a/3KVMKHv
Rear frame sliders Rear Rhino Moto frame sliders (these mount to the upper rear engine mount). Includes mounting hardware and slider caps. The caps are scuffed but can be replaced. $35 https://imgur.com/a/CyfpnEG
    Wheels/brake rotors
Front brake rotors Good shape overall, some wear commensurate with age. Apparently a good upgrade for Futura owners to get 320mm rotors. Includes bolts. These have ~30k miles. $50 https://imgur.com/a/GKA6M6O
Rear brake rotor Good shape overall, some wear commensurate with age. Includes bolts. $15 https://imgur.com/a/wz5NaLt
Sprocket carrier Sprocket carrier and hardware in generally good shape. The bearings feel good. Some minor surface imperfections but very functional. $40 https://imgur.com/a/doLffmg
    Electrical
Wiring harness+ Includes wiring harness, all connectors, fuses, R/R, starter solenoid, plug wires, etc. as pictured. Most connections are labeled. The tail light wiring has some fraying near the connector. The turn signal wiring was modified by the previous owner. Rear brake switch has been modified to work with the Aprilia Performance rearsets - I'll include the cut conector if you need it, but if not I'll keep that side with the rear caliper in case someone wants to use it with the rearsets. Otherwise, there are no known issues or modifications. Note that the wiring harness includes clutch and front brake switches and a kickstand switch which all worked as of this past fall (I know these all like to fail). If there's anything in particular you'd like to confirm this includes, please let me know. Essentially I view this as a mostly complete electrical system that should provide some valuable spares. $100
Ignition coils Includes mounts. All worked fine when removed. These are selling for $100 per side for a used set on AF1 right now. $90 https://imgur.com/a/xseMAka
Cold start lever + cable Works as expected. Missing one mounting screw. $10 https://imgur.com/a/RzM2Wws
    Exhaust
Exhaust headers Stock headers. Doesn't include collector. Not the prettiest but they do their job. $25 https://imgur.com/a/MhyNUlh

Re-evaluated my need vs. want for the fairing and headlight ... I shall pass.

I've begun adding photos and will continue to update this post over the next few days. I also am coming across things in the garage I have not yet listed, so I will compile descriptions and make a "misc." table. If there's anything in particular you are looking for in the meantime, feel free to let me know.
