Ok quick update from first running in ride.

I cant believe the smoothness! My old setup was my first 2 stroke experience , and I just thought they were all rattly vibrational things. But I now realise how bad it was, the piston must have been slapping around all over the place.
Im guessing the new one being iron will dampen noise and vibrations better but still it’s a huge difference.

Didnt take it over 7k rpm , did about 20km varying the revs stopping halfway to let it cool in case it was hot with friction. It has much better low down torque than the old knackered set up. Looking forward to feeling the top end but need to wait a while to rack up more running in mileage.

So far really pleased with the top performances kit.

I’ve done just over 100km with the TP kit and gradually increased the revs to 8k but no more than half throttle.

This is is a great street kit, with useable torque from 6k up, so different to my last top end. It’s using so much less fuel as well. I can feel it loosening up now and wanting to go, but will do another 100km probably before I let her rip to 11k.

Its possible to make really good progress on the power up to 8k, that’s how I’ll ride most of the time nice and smoothly and have the odd rip to high revs now and again. I’m looking forward to full throttle top end as I don’t know what it will be like yet.

For a street bike this setup was a great recommendation.

Cheers. Yes got it running well, new pads all round and freed up sticky pistons in the calipers.

Currently have 13/47 which feels a bit short for the torque it has now.. I’m a bit reluctant to go back to a 14t because it seems like a big jump in gearing and don’t want to ruin it. So I’ll leave it be for now.

In the polini CP 21 I currently have it rich for running in, with a 98 main and 34 idle. Idle jet is the right size ( like one turn out on the air screw ) but main jet could probably be 96 or 94 when it’s run in more.

    Cheers !

Beverage of choice after a ride, at most! The ride looks (& sounds) pretty fresh!
