Is the Nera significantly different than the 04 RSV factory? I know there's more carbon, mag wheels and some titanium fasteners but is it really worth that kind of dough? Sure would hate to lay that one down! lol

This was mentioned in the craigslist/ebay thread. Of course some thought it wasn't worth it, but I'm not sure. I searched and I think I found one that had sold in the high teens a few years ago? I know Moto Corsa in Portland had one for about $20k, and it finally went away, but who knows what it brought.

Amauri has one. Would love for him to chime in on all the differences from a standard '04 Factory bike.

Interesting, but search 'aprilia' on eBay and it doesn't come up. Search '2004 aprilia' and it does. Must be something in the way he did the listing.

The guy also has an '08 Duc 1098R for sale, 3300 miles, $18500, which doesn't sound like big money. Of course that has nothing to do with what the Nera is worth.

In the background in the pics of the Duc looks to be a 999R. He's got good taste anyway.

It doesn't seem like smart money to me, when factories in great condition can be found for $5-$7k. But certainly a sweet thing to waste money on if you don't care about values. They will never be anywhere near what an equivalent generation 999R value will be in the future, and I've seen a couple examples of those for around $16k

the only reason I asked is my slightly rashed factory is not moving at 4700. assuming it's worth 6-7k in top condition, a few limited edition parts does not add up to the asking price. In today's market the Nera is worth 8-10k... sad to say it's just not that much different

The original superlegerra model woo hoo

Had some internal titanium nuts and bolts as well I believe

Itís a true limited edition if it was a Ducati it would be a lot more .

celebrate it for what it is not compare it to a another model

Area 51, a LE is greater than the sum of the parts. Take a look at any of the Italian manufacturers and you will see this(Ducati, MV, Aprilia etc.). You cannot derive any reasonable value estimate for your rashed factory off this (or your unrashed factory). In some cases the specials are essentially a different set of decals. It is on the other hand quite the short description for a $15K motorcycle!

First I have seen one so thanks for the enlightenment.

The difference is that no matter where you go, even if there are 1000s of bikes there, you will have the only Nera.
And unlike most of the other bikes, it is not just another catalog custom.

Well there he is. Thanks for chiming in.

Did you notice that the Nera in question doesn't have anything in the upper triple clamp, the recessed area, where I think on a Nera it would have a numbered decal? Or would it? You know, like Nera no.22, or something like that?

None of the Nera bikes sold in the US got those commemorative plates on the t-clamp.
