Bautista looked pretty good substituting for Jorge at the end of last season.
I think it just goes to show you that GP has the best talent, but unless you're on a top factory level bike...

Bautista definitely has talent. When he was on the Suzuki GSVR he had some brilliant rides going but he'd often crash out pushing that bike to make it fast where his teammate Capirosi was nowhere. Plus he's had consistency issues. Though he did get the Gresini Honda on the podium on occaision as well as that brilliant ride on Lorenzo's Duc at P.I. last year. I hope he can keep consistent and give Rea a run as Davies does not appear to be adapting well to the V4. Glad to see Haslam so competitive. Had higher hopes for Laverty but he looks just like he did on the Milwaukee Aprilia. I was surprised at how slow the Beemers were, like 12ish kph down on top speed...

I am gunna put it out there and say that mm will win two more titles with Honda to equal the hated ones record. Then jump ship to another bike. Iím gunna say Suzuki or Ducati. Yuall heard it here first.

Early days, with the 3 race format there's 39 in total for the season I think I heard said - a lot can happen, riders and bikes are still getting settled in and developed and PI doesn't guarantee a trend.
Strange thing about the Ducatis, they're running different suspension - factory are on Ohlins, Rinaldi is on Showa and Laverty is on Bitubo - I know it'll be down to sponsorship/money and level of tech support but it can't help with sharing data and development.

True. The Vtwin Ducs won 4 out of the first 6 races last year and then didn't win once more the rest of the season.

The Ducks go well at P.I. and I don't think its ever been a particularly good track for Rea. Assen will be a true test, if you can beat Rea there, you can beat him anywhere. Even back on the uncompetitive Honda you could count on Rea to be fighting for wins at Assen and he often won. Since he's been on the Kawi, no one can touch him there.

I doubt that will hinder the factory bikes, they have a full time test rider. It won't help Laverty or the others though

He was WSBK Runner-Up by only 24pts back in 2013 appearing on the podium 23/28 races.

And 9 race wins. Maybe 2014 would have been his year to win the championship on the Aprilia, but he lost his ride, and Guintoli won the championship. Laverty struggled on the Suzuki.

Can't do much without the machinery under you, you only have to look at Haslam on the Kawasaki.

Still not quite sure how he pulled it off. It was interesting to me to see how much worse Guintoli went on the Honda that Rea had just vacated. Leads me to think that Guintoli's championship was more due to the bike and team than his riding.
