Texas Mile 2019 on the Energica EGO

We’re back at the mile, three riders, three days and one wicked fast electric Italian superbike! So who wants to guess top speed with 150 ft/lbs of torque on tap. Dyno this week to test gearing, custom short shock, spare bodywork to aero-ize....520 chain and sprockets....it will be interesting!

Top speed is all about peak power and aerodynamics. They have what? 150hp? coupled with a drag coefficient of about 0.6?
I reckon in the region of 160mph.....

I’m thinking if the wind favors us 165-170, leaves a lot of room for improvement in subsequent events while placeholding the standing mile record right?

If you guys have a rider back out and need a standby, I've done 3 Texas Mile events previously and could get down to around 155 lbs for a tight tuck! I've sorely been wanting to take a spin on an Energetica.

I’m A licensed, Ed is small (aero profile) and needs to start licensing process and final rider will be a female, one with a lot of Bonneville experience and records. Any suggestions on best deals on leathers, I need a new set? I’m down to 165 lbs and 6’3 which probably means a double bubble screen is required too!

Are you really 6'3", or is that like a Donald Trump 6'3"? J/K I just don't remember you being that tall........

As for new leathers, I've owned/own Dainese, Furygan, Axo, BKS, Komodo; and I've always missed my Dainese the most. Nothing fits or performs quite like them. I'm 6'0" and 165ish, and their size 50 fits me like I was born in it. Swing by Cycle Gear from time to time, I got a set there brand new for $550 a few years back on clearance. You can also try to sweet talk the manager, she has the power to discount things additionally.

PS- I just posted a set of size 45 Dainese Axial boots in the forum here for sale, I'll send em your way really cheap if thats your size and you go with a Dainese suit. You may also want to talk to Corey at Motorangutan, he may throw you a solid deal and he's got dozens of suits in stock.

There is a Cyce Gear nearby. I need some tight fitting aero hump equipped leathers for this one, new boots too. EVERY bit of aerodynamic drag reduction counts. Thanks.

I can probably also snag you a euro spec Shark helmet with airfoil on the back t a good rate. Supposedly Lorenzo picked up 3 km/hr on a long straight with the airfoil vs without in testing a couple years ago, and that's when Shark launched it to all MotoGP and Moto2 riders. It's not DOT approved, but ECE certified.

Perhaps you should borrow the aero kit from The Punisher.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

This is more branding than anything. Now to add a steering damper from an RSV4RR. I’m not going 150+ mph without one! Lowering after dyno...
