    I did not know that this was a US forum, I guess that the smaller CC bikes are more popular over here in the EU.

    The SXV is my dream Supermoto!!!
    Many of us would like to see that change. A quick 125 to 250cc bike is a lot of fun and well suited to the US where even the fasted posted road speed is only on a lonely stretch of interstate in rural Texas and that is still just a 250cc capable 85 mph.

    Off road or Crossover I prefer the smaller bikes too especially now that I am a senior citizen who walks with a cane. But even before that I really did not want a bike that weighed almost a half ton or even a quarter ton for my daily ride on or off the road.

    Keep up the nice work and see if you can post a video of it being ridden once its all done.

    Thanks for the compliments guys, once fully derestricted these bikes are capable of pushing out 34hp and hitting 90mph+. So even if marketed as a commuter bike the MX and RS 125's are pretty rapid. The Rotax 122 engine was initially designed for the moto GP race scene, so there a very powerful engine even in it's small capacity. I am just waiting on some parts and sorting out fiddly little job's like the wiring and electrics. The carb is back on and the parts for the airbox mods are hopefully coming today - More updates on the way................

    The snorkel is from a Kawasaki KDX 200, but it's almost the same size as the stock one, the hole in the airbox just needs easing a bit. The Pipercross air filter is for the RS125, so both should help the engine breathe a bit better???.

    That looks like a lovely job Ninja, well done !

    What are you doing about protecting the polished alloy (lever/swinging arm) - lacquer, or just lots of ongoing polishing ?

    Your calipers look great too - what paint are you using ?

    Thanks Millietant - Regular polishing and I use ACF50 to keep all of my shiny polished parts looking mint. You just rub it on with a damp cloth and then leave it to dry, a quick buff afterwards and you're golden. It's a US product but I get it off ebay here in the UK;

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACF50-ACF...2/301666259610

    I sprayed the calipers with the same E-Tech Very High Temperature paint which I use on the engine cases, it's top quality paint and easy to use. Just allow 45 minutes - 1 hour between coats and build up the layers slowly to get a good finish. Again purchased off ebay, (What can I say I'm an ebay fanboy);

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-E-Tech...item44208b288b

    Your supposed to bake the painted parts in the oven afterwards, but when I did that it just made the paint all bubble up. So I just used my Black & Decker heat gun, by swirling hot air over them for about 10 minutes to harden the paint up. Then I left them for a few of days before I gave them a quick buff with some T-Cut, just to finish them off and remove any overspray, as well as to make them look smooth and shiny. I feel that all the parts I've sprayed came out pretty good considering that I did it all outdoors.

    That's great thanks Ninja. I think I'll give the paint a try (I'm refurbishing my wife's old VF750) !

    There are a couple of people offering a motorbike "detailing" service, which include ACF 50 treatment. I've been considering giving one of them a try for one of our bikes (either the Fazer 600 or 1000). Some people on UK bike forums have given them very good reviews.

    Boy Oh Boy - Where does the time go. Well finally after having to save up for some parts and then wait for them to finally arrive, progress has now been made.

    New parts fitted;
    Hel Braided Carbon brake lines.
    New Galfer & Goldfern Sintered brake pads.
    Stock Calipers back on.
    Lithium Ion battery.
    Scalvini front pipe.
    FP mid pipe.
    Tyga Carbon rear silencer.

    I had to readjust the Magura slave cylinder, as it's a tight fit on the Scalvini front pipe, but it all fits good now. I think the front pipe needs protecting so I'll look into that. More parts are on the way so hopefully there is some light at the end of the tunnel now!!!
