CBR600rr leaking fuel after tip over

My son went down on a new tire. Low speed thankfully, looked to be only cosmetic damage. After sitting in the garage overnight, we now have small puddle at the side stand and a garage full of gas fumes. Any ideals? Maybe obvious when I start pulling it apart, but scratching my head till then...

Maybe his carb float bowls upended into the air box.

    RR is injected. Not carb'd...

Without seeing damaged areas is is just a guess. I am pretty familiar with these bikes.

Fuel tank overflow. Meant to cover overfilling but only vertical position. Push it outside and attempt to start it. Be prudent and have an extinguisher handy. probably won't be needed but caution is best.

Don't guess. know. Pull the tank, check the fuel lines, hoses etc. At the same time your son can gain some experience and also wipe up the gas that might have leaked onto the engine. What good does it do to just start it only to find out a fuel line came loose.

Sure it might be a pain and overkill to pull the tank but then putting out a fire or finding out later on a ride that a fuel line was loose puts that in second place.

Ditto on pull the tank; it's probably only one or two bolts at the back. Can't futz around with fuel issues.

Pulling the tank on a 600RR (or any EFI motorcycle for that matter) is more than a couple of bolts. Wiring and plumbing as well as mounting hardware. It's best to have a manual if you're not familiar with it.

Thx everyone. Pulled body panels today. Still canít tell exactly where fuel is coming from, but itís damp inside frame on left side. Iíll dig deeper tomorrow. Hate to say it, but this may not be from tip over. I replaced air filter same day as tire. I may have pinched something when I put it back together. Thnx again...

EVAP canister would be highly suspect to me as would the aforementioned overflow or overfill line or hose.

Very small hole in the tank it self. Somebody dropped a bolt and it lodged between the tank and the frame. Either the fall or it vibrated a hole over time. Any good ideals about a fix? 5 min. Epoxy???

Gasoline is an excellent solvent and while expoxy claim to work it's been my experience it's short term if at all. A quick glance shows tanks on eBay for $100 or so.

Radiator Shop was quick. Barely got home when they called and said it was ready.
