User Code for my 2005 Strada

I have recently replaced the battery in my Peg, and all appears to be fine, I had to remove stale petrol as the bike had been sitting in the garage for a number of months without being used.
It started up and ran fine and appeared to be 100%

Used it a week ago and no issues in starting or ticking over.

It is now saying "insert user code" on the dash and won't start.

I know that its a 5 digit number but have no clue what it is.
Can someone please advise what this is so I can get my Peg going again.

    Thanks in advance.

You can try with 00000 (default)
That it asks 'bout the code it's normal if you're using a new key or a key without transponder,
in your fall it may signify that the antenna doesn't recognize the key:
    check it

Have you had the tank off, there are a couple of wires you may have knocked

    Hi ytc1,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I was away in the Algarve all week.

I have actually sold my Peg about 2 weeks ago. I had fitted a brand new battery as it had been sitting for 12 mths on and off a charger, but wouldn't hold a full charge so I got a new one.
It started up fine with the new battery and ran fine. Had it out for a few runs and actually rode it about 30klms the day I traded it in.

The new owner text'd me to say it was now requesting the code, so I forwarded Fedro's reply and the 5 x 0's code.

That was last Thursday and I haven't heard from him since, so will update you when I hear.

I remember a couple of years back seeing that there was a specific 5 digit code for the Peg, but I can't find that particular post now (and from memory it wasn't 00000's)
Maybe I should ring Griff in Aprilia and see wot he says.

The other code is the engineers one. Not the one you want here. Be issue will be the wire from the lock, or the other one I found buried in the system

The 00000 is the factory default. Owners can change it for "security" reasons. Not sure what they are, but without it you can't code a new key to the system, or change the dash.

Owners change it, then sell the bike without telling the new owner. A real PITA.

    The service code is 25973.

But I bet this is a wiring issue.
