I was at the track from Thursday afternoon till Monday morning. The video pass works fantastic!

So, the video pass this past weekend from COTA sucked, but you could watch the races after they were posted. Elias pulled a ballsy move in Race 1 for the win while Herrin took race 2 after running smart the whole race and then taking advantage of Elias having electrical gremlins!

I watched it on TV, NBCSN I think it was.
That pass by Elias at the end of race 1 was aggressive. He just bullied his way by. That was a determined pass on someone who was faster. As I recall, last time Elias pulled that sort of riding he complained when the favor was returned (Road America).
It is a shame that race 2 went that way. But it was fun watching.

Tony and Cam are not on each other's Christmas card list. They have both bullied by each other. Aggressive racing for sure.

I thought the rebroadcast on NBCSN was put together pretty good, covered all the 5 classes, highlights, the footage and overhead shots were nice mixes. Felt like a pretty good way to reintroduce road racing on TV. I think MotoAmerica is getting better. Looking forward to getting back to Road America again this year.

    Any American riders doing good?

In MotoAmerica there are at least three American riders near the sharp end of the field. And having Tony Elias there gives them an excellent yard stick in my opinion. That they are competitive with Tony is good. And hopefully they will be able to beat Tony (again). But Tony is right there as well and they need to improve their game to beat him. It is kinda like having Mladin here years back. Having him here is what lead to Ben Spies being as good as he was. Too bad he imploded.

Let's see. 4 races in Superbike so far. Cam has a win, Elias has 2, and Herring has 1.

And Gerloff is right there as well. I would not be surprised to see JD Beach up there as well before the season is over.
All we need now is Ducati and Kawasaki to get with it.

Gerloff look himself out of Race 1 and got meatballed in Race 2 due to a loose fender. He is on pace, but has had some crap luck so far.

JD Beach has been impressive in pace as well.

That was a great ride by JD Beach in tricky conditions. He won his first American Flat Track Twins race last weekend, and his first Moto America Superbike race this weekend. And to see everyone congratulating him shows how much respect he has. Well done JD!

Seeing him crying when he won the flat track race was wild. He has won national championships, yet winning a single race meant that much to him. I have a lot of respect for him.

Road America delivered again! That was some great racing there this past weekend. Every class had a good scrap for the win up front.

Yeah, it was good racing. The superbike class was a little light on bike count, but the racing was great. I wonder if / when Ducati, Honda, and Kawasaki will step up. Ducati is there, but not a real effort.
The Suzuki superbikes were stupid fast down the straight. But the Yamaha was making up a lot of time in the corners.
I think the series is being run pretty well. The racing is good. It just needs more bikes, especially more brands.
