How to replace pressed-in pilot jets?

I see lots of posts mentioning the need to do this but none actually describing how to do it. Is it possible to do with regular garage tools? I have rebuilt many carbs but they've all been screw-in jets.

    thanks,
    jim

    Jim,
I'm late to this stomping party, but here's how I've done it in the past...

Drive a self-tapping screw into the hole in the jet, then pull it our with a pair of pliers. Crude, it destroys your jet, but it's completely effective. Before you go there though, consider drilling the jet to a larger size (if that's your target of removing in in the first place), and/or be sure you have replacement jets before you destroy your originals.

    Cheers... Paul

Thanks Paul. I've since been told by the previous owner that there should be bigger jets already in there. As I was able to clear them with a heavy dose of Sea Foam I'll leave them for now and hope the PO is right.
