2013 rear brake clip is weird, can't figure out how to remove

I can't pull it up, should I push it down to release pressure on the brake pin? Anyone have any experience with these? I just swapped the pads in my C14 in about 10 minutes. I'm afraid to break it?

    Thanks!

yes push down lightly to release pressure on the pin so it can slide out after you remove the retaining clip from the other side off the pin.

    reverse for assembly.

Note how the backing plates are installed so you put them back on the correct way..

There is no retaining clip, apparently it's just spring pressure.

looked up an old 2009 RSV4 manual & they had a retaining clip as well.

    Sure your's isn't missing?
It will be obvious if there was supposed to be one as there will be a recess at the end of the pin for it or maybe a hole for a split pin.

Take a pic of the pin when you get it out, would be interesting to see if it has grooves for the spring to hold the pin in place.
hard to tell from your photo above.

Just looked up parts manual for your Tuono, says pin & split pin?

I have a clip. It's the world's smallest crappiest clip and a bit mangled, but it's all back together.

Thanks for your effort, it was very helpful!

$38.50 by the time I bought 5 and the pin itself, but hey, I prefer my pads attached!

    Thanks again, Kiwi!

them's fighting words, geography not your best subject.

No Kiwi, we have Tasmanian Devil, Tasmania is the land once known as the Apple Isle. South island of Australia.
Quite a bit West of NZ (New Zealand) where the Kiwis are.

Pleased to help you out any way, this time.

Oops, not NZ, Tasmania. My bad. I actually asked a guy once if he was from NZ, I picked up the accent. Points for me there, which I just lost.
