Well, I've had a few good weeks at the casino so I figured it was time to take the plunge.

There are two dealers fairly close, one about forty miles and the other around eighty. Eurosport of Asheville is the closest but I didn't really have high expectations based on past experience. I rang them this morning and proposed a $10k OTD cash sale and they immediately said no. No surprises there, I think their normal take is list plus ten and I have no idea how they stay in business.

Next was Mountain Motorsports in TN, these guys have a pretty good rep. I asked how many they had in stock and they said four black and two orange. I proposed the same deal and the salesman said probably not but he'd get with the sales manager and get back with me. So far I've received no response so that's probably a response in itself.

What's the deal here, are the margins that narrow or do dealers just not give a shit about moving product?

    Guess I'll be buying used.

How about trading one of your many bikes in on the 790 with just a little of your winnings, once you have ridden the little 790, you won't need anything else to ride. Theres a good KTM 790 Forum I'm on, its worth visiting, many guys on there have traded their sports bikes etc, and are loving the 790.

I bought my Super Adv from them and had zero problems. They even removed the smog shit from the bike for me without asking. They didn't charge me any extra on top of list

But why pay $10,500 when you can buy a used bike same year with 500 miles that's already had the first service done for $9k?

And i can assure you Craig that your experience is quite uncommon, Eurosport is notorious for adding dealer fee's and doc charges.

Ive noticed that Mike, id be keeping that 1098 Street fighter for sure. If you get a 790 you will find its just so easy to ride, so enjoyable to ride, that it will become your everyday bike. Im finding I'm not interested in riding my other bikes at the moment, i just can't walk past the 790. I paid $15,000 NZ for a demo bike, (traded MV=$10,000 plus $5,000) and it came with heated grips, a belly pan and a sticker kit and a new set of S21s. New retail here is $16,950.
