    Air Heads

A few years back I would have scoffed at the idea of buying an air cooled engined bike knowing full well the advantages of a water cooled engine. As a kid 95% of bikes were air cooled so really, why not. I recently had the opportunity to buy a 1000S multistrada in incredible shape. 2 valves per cylinder, dual spark, Ohlins suspension.. I do most of my own work and being a 2 valve should not be a problem other than getting acquainted to a new system. I am really looking forward to the riding season.

I dig it, except the front is not for me, I like a minimalist look, and the touring screen is too much for my taste

Great bikes - I had a 620 and also a 1000. Ugly, but very nice to ride and fairly practical. Have the valve guides been done? The 1000DS motor tends to eat them.

Yes the front end is a little fugly but I'm okay with it.
The valve guides are original but If I have problems I'll strip it down and have upgrades pressed in.

    Air Cooling is Free

I'm on board with your thoughts, I've been running water cooled bikes for a long time, now that I think about it, it was a 2004 Moto Guzzi that was my last air cooled bike. Then last month I sprung for my 1st air cooled since then, an 1100 EVO Hypermotard. I still have an ST3 and Tuono V4R so I'll still be changing coolant down the road.

Hated that fairing when it came out, but I like it now. Especially in black.
