That was a crazy mud race. I was amazed that Tomac was able to keep from crashing. I think Marvin felt he left too much on the table. I think he did not ride as hard in the main as he rode in the heat. He seemed tight.
There were a few others that put in great rides. It was funny and sad to see Chad's bike stop right before the finish. Good on him to push it over the line.

Thank goodness for CR the transponder pickup wasn't at the top of the jump!

Plessinger looked comfortable in the lites class also. He should of course! His dad was the mud-king of GNCC races. I've been in a few of the GNCC mud races where his dad (Scott) would pass me like I was sitting still. He would be wfo and I would be trying to stay up with my feet flailing about. I imagine the old man would have finished in the points at that race!

Yep, Plessinger looked like he was actually having fun, and he looked like he could have kept going for the original distance / time. He was untouchable. It looked like he could go at his own pace, just keeping the gap where he wanted it.

I think both MM and Tomac were surprised in that turn.

That was a hard pass. But to be fair, it wasn't all on Marvin in my opinion. It was the end of the race, Tomac had to expect something. But he ran an odd line in that corner, not down tight to guard the inside and not up high trying to be as fast as possible. He picked some middle of the road line that left the inside open but wasn't fast enough to be in and out of the corner before Marvin was there.
I like Tomac, but I don't know what he was thinking. I know if he was in Marvins shoes he would have done the same. When he passed Marvin just before then, he said it was a clean pass and it was. But half the reason it was a clean pass was because Marvin saw / felt Tomac coming up the inside and actually turned right (going into a left) to make room.
Marvin was completely committed when he made that move on Tomac. He was in the air on the way in and couldn't change his plan if he wanted to. Marvin doesn't normally hit people on purpose, I hope Tomac keeps that in mind.
But, unlike the MotoGP race the SX race was exciting for sure.

That's why Tomac won't be one of the greats, he has the speed, but doesn't think.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson was injured yesterday during a practice session at Glen Helen Raceway.
Vital MX is reporting the incident occurred when Anderson collided with a someone who was trying to assist/block another downed rider.
Motocross Action Magazine was at Glen Helen on Thursday and captured photos of Anderson being carried off the track by Husqvarna’s Steve Westfall.

Last night on his Instagram story, Anderson posted a photo of his foot with the caption: “Compound fracture to the foot in a crazy accident today.”

ET is better outdoors, than SX, so it's pretty much his Championship to loose. Will he crack under pressure as he has done before?

    WESTON PEICK

AutoTrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing rider Weston Peick underwent an extensive first surgery late last night at the hospital he was transported to after a collision with another rider during the opening night of the 2018 Paris Supercross. Peick was heavily sedated to help relieve the extreme pain from his injuries and post-op surgeries. His first successful surgery was to fix the multiple nose, eye and other facial fractures including two breaks in his jaw and dual dislocation of the jaw bone from his skull. His injuries are extensive and very serious but the doctors have confirmed no brain or spinal damage has occurred, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Peick is now awake and under minor sedation to help offset the tremendous pain he is in. His physicians are assessing his status and starting phase two of his treatment to determine the timeline for his second surgery.

....The total cost to transport him back home to the states is projected around $104,000.00, this is not including the bills from his over three weeks in the hospital.

Well, the 2019 Supercross season is off to a good start.
    That was an interesting race.
    What happened with Anderson?
I was so stoked for Dean Wilson. I feel like I should buy a T shirt from him to help keep his season going.

I feel the same about Wilson - hard to believe he had to sell shirts to afford to get to the race.

I think the conditions were so different to anything anyone trained for, it caused issues for a lot of guys. When was the last time it rained at A-1? The 450 rookies had a decent showing
