    A mess of decomps!!

    Goodnight everyone!

My RXV needs new decompressors and I was determined to install the latest version of them, the ones with the longest cam, theoretically the most reliable ... I had read around here that the correct references were CM238601 and CM238701 ... well...they are identical to the old ones !!
I continue to research and acquire the references that belong to the MXV, specifically the 855507 and 855508 ... judge by the photos ...

Does anyone have information on this topic?

    Thanks!

I only know that you also need the newest version of camshaft as there is a longer pocket in them to fit the longer de compressor shaft.
So you can't put a new (long) decompressor in a old type camshaft.

But I don't know at which engine number or year they changed it.
My bike is my gym, my wheelchair and my church all in one. I'd like to ride my bike all day long but I've got this thing called a job that keeps getting in the way.

I had the same problem: Ordered the MXV decomp levers ~2 months ago with the correct numbers (#855507 and #855508), 'cause the VdB cams in my SMXV got the new (and longer) MXV decomps inside (with modified cam, just like showed above).
But I had the same problem, the old style decomp levers came from the APE dealer with the MXV numbers on the label!
Called the dealer and he said, they're the only ones that are listed for the MXV, order was correct!!

I managed to re-use the old MXV decomp levers and put them into the cams, but it seems, that the longer levers are not available!
