    RSV44 Clip ons on Tuono V4 1000

    Hey guys,

I'm in the process of converting my 2011 Tuono to a track bike as I have been able to source some parts off a 2013 RSV4
I'm mainly interested nth fitment of the of the RSV clip ons onto the Tuono.

I've read few threads about this conversion but haven't come across this question.

Do I need the top triple tree from the RSV4 as well or can keep the Tuono one?

Will i have any major clearance issues? Will the front brake line need to be shortend? I read that the front brake line and the rear could be swapped around maybe?

Should i change the rear sets as well?

Any help would be much apreciated.

And yes I know, why not just get an RSV4. That's not an option. Thanks.

So I fitted the RSV4 clip ons this weekend.

It went pretty well and everything lined up nicely on the bars. Only issues was the extra length of some of the wires and cables but some creative cable ties sorted that out.
Other than the obvious lack of turning circle when maneuvering for parking I'm really enjoying them so far. Just need to sort out some better looking mirrors. The stock ones work really well in this position but look a bit weird.

Feels really good, nice feel from the front now with the extra weight. Feels very sporty and surprisingly comfortable. I havent had a chance to ride in "anger" yet but will report back on that.

I do need to adjust my riding style now though.

Dark rider. What did you change in order to fit the rsv4 clip ons? Is the clip on enough or need more parts from the rsv? Planning to do same. Have a 2014 v1000

    Looks cool.

Yeah. Mirrors seem a bit out of place.

Clip ons are all you need.

Main part to take note of is that the brake reservoir needs to be rotated upwards and backwards to clear the front fairing

The 90 degree bend in the brake line coming out of the master cylinder needs to be rotated as well so that it clears the lower triple clamp when the bars are turned. If you just crack the nut lightly this can be done without leaking any fluid. Just be very careful.

Then routing the throttle cables and brake and clutch lines takes some trial and error to get into a decent position.

The wiring from the left hand control will need to be relocated and zip tied in place. You'll find the best position after some adjustment.

I added a wheel weights to the steering stop posts (If that's what they are called?) You need to reduce the turning radius so that the controls on each handle bar don't touch the intake tubes for the air box. This only affects the low speed turning radius when parking or moving the bike. Doesnt affect normal riding. 3 point turn is now a 8 point turn Wheel weights are soft and after a couple weeks they got flattened out. So Id advise using something harder like stiff rubber etc.

The bar angle can be made as straight as possible before hitting the fairing. The above image still has it quite swept back. I adjusted it after a few days of riding. This made turning much easier and put more leverage into the clip ons.

    Hopefully that helps.

Will be happy to answer any further questions.
