Engine cut out on a new Tuono only done 650 miles

I was tip toeing along today in traffic doing about 30mph in 2nd or 3rd, don't recall and the engine just simply cut out. Because I was so surprised I'm not sure whether I down shifted, pulled the clutch or went from 2nd to 3rd etc, but it simply died on me and it felt like there was no engine breaking. I hit the 'starter' button and it fired up again and I carried on.

I'll pay more attention next time if it happens, but wondered if anyone else had experienced this behaviour. Bit worrying considering I've not even had the bike 1 week yet and its not even done a 1000 miles yet.

Just to add more info. I had put in Tesco momentum in about 2 miles before which has a 99 Octane. However ran this fuel on my previous Honda for 30k without problem. Bike was warmed up and not at altitude.

I can't beleive dealers are letting new bikes out now without updating the software knowing that it will only come back because of said issue

Assume you know something on this subject. Is it software related ? and is there a way of knowing if I've got the latest software or not. Version number or something ?

I would assume the dealer would connect the bike to to PADS during the PDI which should then update to the latest software.

I have the same experience with my now tuono. It was around the first 500km. Now I have 10000km without a problem.

but I have the same experience with both Yamaha and Suzuki, so it's probably normal with the new bike

Assuming the dealer is updating their PADS software or regular basis

Your dealer will remove it under warranty they know there are issues with fuel pressure and hot cut outs on some bikes because of it. My dealer was aware and removed no problem no charge.

its worth checking you've got the latest software as I've just found out that after 1000 miles my software hadn't been updated since leaving the factory even though the dealer I brought it from stamped the book with first service. Makes me wonder if they even changed the oil!

Hopefully this might resolve my cutting out issues in 1st gear when pulling up.

I won't mention the dealer. If someone wants to PM me I'll let you know.
