The 11 to 13 May is my choice.
Yes the routes around Llandovery itself are good.

Dave and I will also have a look at an alternative, somewhere in Central Wales, either for the next rally or another later on.

    Hi Andy,
I've got a brilliant little book called Nid yr A470 (Not the A470) which is about alternative backroads to the A470.
Will email a copy of the overall map listing the authors routes. They actually go from LLandudno to Cardiff Bay close to but not on the A470.

The pic was taken between Aberystwyth and Macynlleth ish.
Although I've never found the track again, and nobody in Aberystwyth knows where it is!

Dave22 took myself and Haga on a route from Aberystwyth through the elan valley and devils bridge I think tracking the waters edge a couple of years back, a very picturesque route with some cracking photo opportunities and pretty close to nature. Might be nice to take some of that side in?

I'd be up for that if I can get out the pub at a sensible time

    All good routes.byeways.
Off the Elan Valley/Devil's Bridgw route is Nant y Moch reservoir to Tr'e DDol (see google map) which is more remote and could make a joined up circuit. This is in the triangular area between Devil's Bridge/ Machynlleth/ Dylife which is a maze of very remote tracks and tiny roads. Hardy ever visited except by UFO's. Seriously remote but not not far off a main road.

Perhaps Dave#22 can shed light on what that route was, I wish I could remember it as it was really fantastic.

I only got one picture on it perhaps someone can recognise it...

Looking at a map that was taken just before the Pont Ar Elan overlooking the Cronfa Ddwr Craig Goch!

    B4574 maybe?

We went up the mountain before this where the infamous cattle grid was, do you remember where that was Geoff, that aside it was a lovely run?

Hi Nito, from what I can remember, we came up from Aberystwyth, toward Devil's Bridge, then took a right into the Elan Valley, turned right to pass the reservoirs (photo taken), right at Rhayader to Newbridge, across to Beulah, then back to Llandovery.
As Dave says, there are plenty of nice roads in the area.
    Dave.

    Geoff,

It seems that the majority would want the 11 to 13 May for our next rally.
    Somewhere in Welsh Wales.
    Anyone disagree?

    Andy

You're right Geoff, it was never completely decided but Fri 11 - Sun 13 May 2018 was OK with the majority. See Page 1. Unfortunately Big Steve had a problem with this date,
Sincere apologise Steve, hope you don't mind if we go with 11 - 13?

No problem . ...I completely understand that you have to do what the majority want.

If I can change shifts I will....but I'll leave any final decision until next spring.
