So I just recently picked my 2009 sr50. It came with a exhaust and a water trap installed. But I don't know if the ecu has been derestricted or not. What is a quick and easy way to check?

Easiest way is to ask the previous owner. If they bothered to install a performance exhaust and a water trap they knew more than the average owner.

He doesn't know much either. He bought off his buddy years ago. He rode it for awhile and then parked it a few years. So he's not sure

Unfortunately there is no easy way to determine if it has been restricted - you would have to ride it and see how it performs.

@ louder north I see you use motul scooter power 2t oil. Does that give you any problems? How does it run?

Let's try to keep this thread on topic... in the meantime, there is lots of debate on 2T oil - just go through the 'read me first' section. I like the Motul but then I have a water trap and it is very effective at removing the 'goo'. No problems to date.
