I opened up my airbox and couldn't be happier!

Was looking at the path of fresh air (rather the lack thereof) to the engine and decided to make some changes.
    1) remove that restrictor piece from front of filter holder
    2) cut down the filter holder so air filter is completely exposed
    3) remove the rain guard thing that prevents fresh air (and rain, presumably) from hitting the airbox

    Result:
Noticeable performance improvement, more intake noise when opening it up. Better mid-range response.

    Here's what's been removed:

Hi Jmardy. so did you need to have it remapped or just got on and rode with same throttle and fuelling response as before but with the better mid range etc?

    Google is an amazing tool.
But here ill bite..FatDuc is an obese Archduke tunner from Zimbabwe. Todays lesson is to teach you to do your own homework to prevent false information. This will go a long way.

Yo Jmar i haven't recieved my bike yet, so since you have already traveled this road, can you free the air travel without removing the rain diverter incase i get caught up in some good rain and don't want to stop riding? Thanks

You certainly could. I stuff some filter foam in there when it rains.
