What do I need to install 50mm Marzocchi forks on my SXV?

I have some 50mm Marzocchi forks off my TM 250 dirt bike. I would like to install them on my 550 SXV. How to I find triple clamps and do I need anything else for the brake?

First you'll need some 50mm triple clamps. Faor and X-Trig offer some. Depending on the fork bottom you could require a caliper bracket to possibly a different caliper. Pics?

I would think a set of MXV triples would be an inexpensive option.

I see an MXV top clamp and a VDB bottom clamp on ebay. Probably can't combine the two to work. It may be interesting to find the clamps.

Correct, they can't be combined but there are 3 different OEM clamps that will work. In addition to the MXV and VDB, the triples from the 2012-13 Euro model SXVs were made for the 50mm Marzocchis and can be used with the stock dashboard/headlight without having to fab anything.

Actually you can combine an MXV top clamp with a VDB bottom clamp.

The MXV is a fixed 14mm offset and the VDB can be set to 11, 14 or 17mm depending on what eccentric you use.

Another option is to PM me and I'll sell you a complete set of MXV t-clamps I have, they're new.

What type of brake caliper does that TM fork use?

Every set of stock MXV triples that I've seen had the same 21mm offset as the RXV/SXV clamps. Are the 14mm clamps you have some kind of factory racing exclusive?

I'll have to go and double check Allen

I got these MXV clamps a few years ago in a package with a bunch of parts from from Italy.
They were not in the original packaging, just labeled with a tag hand written 14mm.
So I can't say for sure these are std MXV clamps.

You've seen a lot more MXVs than I have, so if you say std is 21mm I'm sure you're correct.

I am still trying to decide on using these forks on one of the SXV's. Does anyone know of a bracket or other way to use the bigger Brembo caliper and rotor from the SXV on the Marzocchi dirt forks?
