    Formula 1200 Mirage, anyone?

Hi, I've been looking through the sub-forum here, has anyone got any experience of the Formula Mirage? I was lucky enough to have one for a short while, it was a keeper (somebody else thought so to, it wasn't where I parked it the night before! My garage). Anyway I digress, I loved it, l lusted after one the moment I saw it in MCN, found a one owner up for sale, bought it. Hard to start cold, lumpy as hell before it warmed up, drank a bit more than Oliver Reed! But my goodness, once out on the open road you couldn't ask for more. I haven't got photos as they are missing in action (2 big house moves), I know some people hated the one piece body, I loved it.

if you are talking about the version I am thinking about I would buy it out from under you before I let you find it first.

The 1200 triple with the 180 crank?

Oh yeah. I would steal it first.

If I still had it, nobody would buy it, it was the most wonderful machine, alive and wild. 1200, 180 crank, 7C cams and just about every other goody you could think of! But it could have done with a more grunty starter motor.

I thought it was safe in my garage!!

Yes, it was. I didn't realise that there were only 17 made, I cannot think why so few though, they were fantastic to ride and made a glorious noise with Jota pipes or the Harris 3 into 1 that mine had.

I like the look of your blue 1200 in the photo gallery. As I said lost my photos in two big house moves!
