Smooth as silk. "Naturally the common people don't want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or fascist dictaatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. H. Goring

I could make a weekday ride but I'd have to quit my job. Let me check with the wife on that idea and I'll get back to you...

Ride the 21st or continue to debate the merits of that date into Christmas?

That's a nice little half-marathon! I need to take a nap just considering it. But I'm good!

    What's R3?

Sounds like the 21st it is. Now - morning ride ending at lunch, or day-long ride ending at dinner? Just so ya know, Lorna's opens at 4pm on Saturday, so if it's a lunch ride, we gotta find a new place.

Jeez, Evan! Did you forget how old, fat, and slow I've gotten??

Why don't we throw in Mesa Grande, S-6, and S-7 while we're at it?

Actually, not a bad route at all if we have the whole day, though I would change "Lilac" to:

    Circle R
    West Lilac
    Lilac

And I believe a better meet-up spot is the campground just north of Gopher Canyon on Old 395 (Just off the 15 exit for Gopher Canyon Rd.)

Hmm. Reading this a second time, I'm wondering if you are calling S-2 to Scissors Crossing "Yaqui Pass". Actually taking Yaqui Pass would involve going down into Borrego, then heading South and taking Yaqui Pass across to the 78, up the narrows to Scissors, then to Banner.

    Clarification requested, sir!

Not at all, I quit today (not kidding!) so if anyone is up for a weekday ride this coming week, maybe we can meet at some mutually agreeable point. I'll let the locals chime in as to where and when.

At this point, I'm up for the 21st also. Voting for lunch as I hate riding in the dark.

I'll be up for that ride but like you, will know only as the week progresses...I have a couple of job interviews, decided quitting may not have been the right thing to do.

After wise council from Soul Daddy, I realize the route I posted is a little ambitious. On Saturday, November 21st, we should meet at 9am at the campground located west of the Old 395, just north of Gopher Canyon Road. We will have enough time to have a good ride, a mediocre lunch, and make it home before dark (safety first). We should have good weather for the day. Looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones.
