I know you like to play but with the chance of crap getting into an airy box modded, I don't think they need it unless its restricting air flow, you have bigger boots now I think and she is finally running spot on, great to see, be happy, swill wine and play on your weapon till your jaw aches, but if you modd the box we want before and after dyno shots or trex and co will disown ya,

Now I have to mod my airbox so its an open one. (haven't had time yet) I may do that this weekend after buying a dremel to do the work.

You'll hardly improve it noticeably with the open box... induction noice will increase (some like the roarrr) and you may or may not get dirt on the wrong side of the filter. Ányway, if you do it, please make sure it really seals tight.

The airbox mod I did using the dremel and car boot pinchweld rubber has been operating for about three months now, Had the tank up quite a few times and it's sealing very well (to the point that I have to press the tank down quite hard to get it to sit in place, and the front bolts are a little harder to get in) . No sign of any dust or debris.

Getting the engine breather out has worked well too- no more oil in there.

It's very cheap to do and much more robust than the 'evo' seal. Takes a few hours.

yesterday i've tested a new header mod, based on the '98-'00 header (and '01-US). it has only one crossover pipe in the rear header.

We know it can be done. But how does it compare to the later pipe with the double?

'00 header set does very little midrange dip in torque, and at highter rpm's (primary tubes are shorter).
The single crossover mod tested is pictured here:

the dyno-results comparing the 2 headers above is that:

crossover makes toque figure almost electric: softening a lot it at low rpm, filling the midrange dip, castrating the torque peak, and giving almost the same topend of std

than, i've tested a "normal" '01+ header with my double crossover mod:

it perform globally better than the single mod '00 header: with stronger low rpm, a little dip at midrange, stronger torque peak, and a better topend:

Gab I would love to go single can on the Falco with the 98-00 modded headers for weight loss and power/torque gains. Aprilia did their own mod on the Falco... but I am worried about the front cylinder header being longer than the rear cylinder header if you mod like Aprilia did in this picture of this very sorted Falco. Any opinions on this?

Oh and I want to keep the Falco oil tank/cooler...
