    Husky sold.. Beta bought.

Just sold my 09 te450 and picked up a used 14 Beta 300rr. Nice to be on a light 2 stroker again!!! Sold one Italian (purchased when Cagiva owned Husky)...to get another Italian.. That makes three Italian bikes!

    Not mine, but googled image.

Beautiful bike. The Italians simply have vehicle aesthetics nailed. Great looking bike! Have fun on her.

Thanks! She feels nice and flickable on the single track.. I tossed a Midwest Mountain Engineering clutch paddle on her for this past Sunday. It's like cheating!

Now......If I could talk my wife into a Fiat or a Alfa...

Dealership near me just picked up Beta (already has Yamaha, Triumph, Husky, KTM, and had Husaberg).

Beta is one sexy bike. love the beefy frame tubes and you can tell the components are quality.

You're welcome. Thats very high praise indeed. You probably have some good places to ride that vixen up where you live, yes? A friend of mine told me about a park up in WV, I think its called Hatfield McCoy?

Here's a pic of me(on an older Husky)on one of our "valley" sections on one of our normal loops.

The Hatfield McCoy trail system is a few hours south. I'm wanting to get down there though.
It's funny....we pass quite a few of the H&M trailheads on our trips south on the Guzzi.

Those extreme endures are crazy! Some of the sections those guys ride are ridiculous!

That is one photogenic bike. Would be cool if you could keep us up on reliability & how that thing runs. I'm going to a BETA dealer in GA next week to check them out. They've got some pretty cool bikes as far as I can tell. These are cool times for moto heads what with all the small manufacturers producing such sweet ass bikes. I think the BETA's are maybe priced right in line with the KTM's?

I would have never imagined owning three Italian bikes....

I'll keep you posted on the reliability and toughness of the bike. I already had a moment when the bike shot out from under me (hitting a rut (in a s-turn) on an uphill.. My buddy thought the bike was going to be destroyed! It flew 6 or 7 feet up in the air and 15 feet onto the hill side before sliding seat first into a small tree. I picked it up and she was none the worse for wear.. Kept riding of course!
I do have to get used to the instant power delivery. I adjusted the power-valve to give more torque and save the hit for the top. It feels like a feather compared to my Husky 450..

    Minor update.

The previous owner had installed fork springs two rates heavier than stock.. To that end, on my initial rides seemed to be not too bad suspension-wise, but I had to pay attention to the front end. It seemed to wander a bit.
I had my LBS install a set of stock springs and put some (recommended) 2.5 weight fork oil in. The bike is absolutely awesome now. Very balanced, and the front now sticks in turns and doesn't try to climb out of ruts..
    I'm happy.
