What 'State of Tune' class level does your bike fall into, and reflecting your philosophical tuning contentment level?
Assuming full derestriction is always carried out, ''State of tune'' levels can be basically classed into 8 individual combination levels of the big 3 tuning categories - ENGINE / TRANSMISSION / EXHAUST.
    Please Note
    # Please poll your "State of Tune" class level (number) according to the list below.
    # Feel free to also post your "State of Tune" class level (number), and your philosophical thoughts as to why you like the particular class level your at.
    # If it's work in progress, then also post the "State of Tune" class level (number) you intend to reach,or perhaps go back to.
    # If you have already voted, but have since changed to a different level, then please post this new level, and kindly PM our moderator, and request to change your vote in the POLL to reflect your new tune level.

    KEY
    OEM = Original Equipment Manufacture
Transmission upgrade = Aftermarket Variator / Clutch / belt / Contra Spring
    Exhaust upgrade = Aftermarket exhaust
    BBK 70cc = Big Bore Kit 70cc

'STATE OF TUNE' LEVELS (All Tune Levels Are Fully De-restricted)
    TUNE#(1) OEM 50cc / OEM transmission / OEM exhaust
    TUNE#(2) OEM 50cc / transmission upgrade / OEM exhaust

    TUNE#(3) OEM 50cc / OEM transmission / exhaust upgrade
    TUNE#(4) OEM 50cc / transmission upgrade / exhaust upgrade

    TUNE#(5) BBK 70cc / OEM transmission / OEM exhaust
    TUNE#(6) BBK 70cc / transmission upgrade / OEM exhaust

    TUNE#(7) BBK 70cc / OEM transmission / exhaust upgrade
    TUNE#(8) BBK 70cc / transmission upgrade / exhaust upgrade

My "State of Tune" class level is #(2) I personally love staying close to OEM design, build, and manufacture, and tune level 2 reflects this in most part, but the Malossi transmission tune has basically taken refinement and efficiency of power delivery to an even higher level.
In other words...Malossi transmission has made absolute stock tune perfection!!! Very happy
    Performance:
    GPS tested/flat road,no wind (0-50kph / 7.5 secs) (Top Speed / 90kph) My weight - 75kg.
I personally love the idea of staying close to factory specs... maximum performance & reliability achieved through preserving the OEM bookends of the factory 50cc high performance engine and exhaust, yet upgrading the transmission to Malossi specification.
The Malossi upgrades to my transmission, have taken refinement to another level,as it has maximized the de-restricted OEM engines power & torque down to the ground in the most efficient manner possible, yet at the same time maintaining that factory standard reliability and engine chemistry.

    Three now ,Two later

I am at level 3 now. I have stock gaskets ordered for the OEM exhaust (200miles) and and will be a level 2 soon (test)

The rollers were changed to 6.8gr

I am not changing the map yet.I am trying to only make one change at a time. I don't think Aprilia would make an inferior product. As long as Aprilia has been around, I believe that their R+D and Tech Design and Chemists and Testers and Electricans and Artists and Suspension and WEEEEEEEEEEL SHOULD I GO ON?? NO!,,, have been doing this sorta thing for a long time.

Do you buy a Brand New Ford Shelby Mustang with all the Factory upgrades, and take it off the lot and go bore it out??, change the exhaust, change the intake,etc.. Well I guess if you have more money and more toys than you need , then probablly. This Ford is Stong, Fast and Fun but it is not an Exotic.

Sure there are "After Market" upgrades for the Mustang, Ferrai,Lamborg, and other exotics. But One buys the "Exotics" for It's Engineering, Design and performance.

The SR50 Fctory is an exotic. This $3000 50cc scooter was designed and built by some of the best people, computors and machinery in the business.

I guess it is fun to "Build" one of these bikes if you have the money.

I had a chance to ride Swichbak's SR70 (the Red One) today and it is surley sweet!!!

This bike is special!! Aprilia is the "Spear Point" on the developement of a Fuel Miser,Low Emissions 50cc Scooter Industry"

If your successful in keeping the OEM exhaust as you strive for # 8, then your tune level will be more a#6. We hav'nt had a 6 register yet, and the stealthy approach is something i like.
