I got a new Bridgestone front tyre fitted to replace the Michelin that had managed to last over eleven thousand miles which is a record for any tyre on my Capo and still had just over 1mm tread left on.

Judging by the Bridgestone rear I'm currently running which still looks very good after over four thousand miles I'm hoping this new front will last longer than the last tyre.

Hyperpro springs front and rear......its amazing that when you ride every day you never notice how mushy the suspension gets. New fork seals so no more stiction. And since the whole pivot link had to come out, all the pivots got a fresh lubin.

Now it feels like my legs have shrunk 2 inches in the last week........

    Very very nice.
What do you mean -why do I have 2 ETV Caponords? I also have 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 legs, 2 eyes and 2 butt cheeks, I don't see the problem.

What did I do with my Capo today..... I tried to find the source of an oh so small oil leak thats driving me crazy lately.

Its on the LHS and its only a very thin film of fresh engine oil. After using the bike for 30min or more on a run there is the slightest film of oil on the top and face of the casing above the gear selector pedal.
I have dropped the oil resevoir cleaned it checked pipes.... nothing. Checked oil cooler pipes.... nothing. Checked tightness of the ring of allen head bolts on the casing.... no issues.
Outer electrical connector black going into the casing secured by a bolt to the inside..... no leak visible.

Inside this connector is a rubber gland with 3 yellow wires coming out of the case..... what are they for and could this gland be the source of my very slight engine oil leak only when on the move ?

Any and all help appreciated in my hour of need.

    Regards,
    Mike

I have had a similar thing and am pretty sure it is oil that's entered the airbox and is then exiting via the overflow collection tube (cracked and leaking in my case). You can see it as item 13/21/22/23 in the attached image.

Those 3 yellow wires run to the stator that's inside that side of the case as you can see in the right side of this photo

As Golden Capo says, prob the air box overflow has no plug or the hose is cracked.
In saying that i did have exactly the same as you describe and it was one of the stator case bolts was loose.

Thanks folks, helpful as always, what a collection of knowledge.

First thing i tried was the ring of allen bolts on the case..... no luck all tight.

I hope its the overflow from the airbox. The pipes suggested come down behind the stator casing and inward of the side stand mount. This oil leak is just a film of fresh oil that seems to come from no higher than the top of the stator casing as everything above this line is dry. Wind and speed seem to be blowing it rearward and making it appear much worse than it is.
There is no oil leak when the bike is left running either on the main stand or the side stand for 20 min..... bone dry.
I removed the sump cover and unbolted the oil tank and cleaned it the other day, put it back but didn't put back on the sump cover. Did 60mls to limerick and back and no sign of any oil leak.
Last night I wrapped a small fleece rag around the 3 stator wires grommet and today after about 40 min ride on the twisties it felt slightly oily on my return, but no oil on the casing either top or side.
Looking in from the front with the oil cooler on the LHS there seems to be a wet bit on the RHS of the head gasket. I did clean it and it hasn't gotten worse since.... otherwise dry as a cork.
    Thanks again for all help.

Baby powder. Dust it and then go for a ride. You will know where the oil is coming from after that. Talc if you take the manly approach.
