Remember to insert your user code

Since I disconnected the battery last time to install a tender plug, I'm having this message coming on every time I start the bike.
It goes away after few seconds.
I did some research online, same problems with Tuono, Guzzi, etc. and I kind of have an idea what that means, but my question is this:
    • what happens if will never insert any code?
    • I will ever need that code, except to program a 3rd key?

Mode button(not the starter) push 6 times(default code is 00000). You dont need to enter it unless you have a broken antenna-as far as I know

it says that when your batt dies I think, it just keeps saying that till the end of time if you don't (prev owner of my bike left it like that for 4500km).

How to insert new code & get rid of the message

    OK, I figured it out.
If you get this message is because no code was ever entered.

So to insert the user code & get rid of the message:
    • go to the Menu
    • select Settings
    • select Change Code
    • enter the Old Code - by default is 00000
    • enter your New Code
    • exit

The message is now gone for good. Write the new code with permanent marker on the back of your seat, laminate and tape it next to the battery, write it down on the cover of your owners manual, then tattoo it on your chest so you'll never lose it.

There is code recovery option in settings menu. Will ask to insert spare key and enter new code.

I tried, it didn't work on mine. I could either change the code or live as is, but the message would have come on at start.
    I couldn't re-enter the 00000.
Now I got the new code, written all over and is fine.
