    Vespa on motorway - speed

Yes, I agree that Vespa is a city/town vehicle, its short distance between wheels won't be convenient for motorways, but still can it stay at 70 mph if I buy a model with 300cc engine?
I'm getting sicked and tired of my Aprilia Atlantic 500 (made in 2002 and breaking down all the time) and considering Vespa instead - mainly driving in my town, but rarely (upto 20 times a year) driving on motorway for about 1 hour.
    Thanks

My hopped up GT200 will go over 80mph indicated. It hist the rev limiter. I think a 300 will hit 90.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

I have a 300 Super with a mid height screen and it is ok for a freeway ride. It will hold 72 and can top at 83 to 85. Not bad and I would not worry about a few rides every year.

I routinely open my Vespa 300 Super up on the interstate, sometimes for an hour or so. It does an indicated 82 mph but slows a little with any up grade. Judging from the traffic around me, that would be an actual 74 mph. It works in the middle lane on most interstates.

I get home after my 22 mile highway commute to a red hot exhaust...the scoot has never let me down!

I need to buzz out to New Braunfels to show off my new paintjob. It's about 180 miles and I have absolutely no worry about it.

I went on a test ride of a gts 300 last year @ af1 and it did 70 on the highway without breaking a sweat.

Thanks guys for letting me have a go on it. I'd have one right now if it weren't for having an old ass house that needs repairs.
