    YES I DID! Siemens ECU read&write :)

finally, after 8 years, last night i've downloaded my first modded map in a Siemes ECU... i was almost crying

I've got some (a lot) of panic when my tool hanged-up by the end of the process, but it did a correct job anyway (i've re-loaded the map to check)

I've just street tested my '07 T-Factory (evo6 exhaust, BMC filter) and my RVC5L982 map modded with a new ignition timing: very nice gains in the 4000-8000rpm region.

I'll do more in the w.e. , tunerpro XDF file is almost done (al least for the ignition, TPS and MAP table definitions)

By next week i'll have some dyno printout

I'll be soon in the business

    Stay tuned!
    Gab

Hi Gabro I am very interested in the great progress you have made as I have a 1102 built by Amauri with EVO 6 and more gains in ingintion timing and ECU advances will be welcome.
    Keep me posted cheers,
    Mark.

Ciao Mark, i've never worked on a 1102cc motor, but usually rising the compression (and big-boring +5mm compression rise a lot) ignition timing needs to be retarded. Being the stock ignition timing on the "safe side" (i.e. not much advanced) maybe it's already spot-on to your motor

so you basically wrote over the factory map w/ your own map, then reloaded the fcatory map just to check it was done properly?

.. no.. i read the factory map, modified it, downloaded my modified file in the ECU, read the ECU again and found my modified file that was correctly written on.

Do you need to actually open up the ecu to 'overwrite' it?

This has much potential, I have noticed in Axone Menus there are options for "anti-lag", "water injection", "boost control" and such, can you activate and control these outputs in any way? I know, I am thrilled too that you finally just "got in the door" BUT you of course realize the power potential you are playing with and the way my sick mind works! Maybe a PM explaining a bit of the process if you do not wish to throw it up publicly. I would love to have unfettered access...love it! I agree about the ignition timing for a 1102cc motor, compression is way up and dynamic compression is way-way up so added spark time is not required.

actually i'm still de-coding the binary file... i'm still at a very basic step. yet to find wich tables are for the rear/front cylinder. and I have no disassembly skills, so i've to work in a very empirical mode.

Cant you just make one map really lean and one really rich? Header temps or checking sparkplugs should tell you which map is which...

So about ignition timing, are there any gains to be made changing ignition timing on a stock engine with an Akra evo hex full system?

That exhactly how i,ll do it, put a fuel spyke says at 5000rpm ad see using a lambda probe wich cylinder react enrichng.

More than power gains we're talking about "character" of the motor. APRILIA/ROTAX guys did a wonderfull job linearizating throttle response and power delivery, shaving the excess. I'm gonna destroy theyr job, reveiling those motor as they really are
