@Micah: Sorry, I donīt understand this sentence...

Piaggio didnīt make any changes on the stock GTS cylinder head.

No worries. Confirmed myself as well. Still need a V4 or equivalent head to make real power gains on the 300cc Vespa.

A high compression, well designed piston would be well worthwhile for around town use, better fuel economy too. Dunno if sustained high rpm highway use would be safe but, there is an easy way to find out lol. I keeping my low compression semi custom piston for eventually adding forced induction.

The engine setup is nearly like description/pix at posings before.
    Setup:
*Malossi282 cylinder plus Malossi V4 head (ports inreased); malossi standard piston (standard compression ratio)
    *standard crankshaft with steel conrod
*modified air intake plus K&N airfiler
    *bigger fuel injector
*MIU38 ECU with adapted map (air fuel ratio & ignition characteristic)
    *38mm CNC intake manifold
    *FG camshaft V3
*Remus carbon exhaust (from a street bike, with modified db-eater)
    *modified exhaust manifold
    *HIT clutch
*modified Malossi Multivar & adapted roller weights to engine peak performance
    *Malossi torque drive
    *Malossi drive belt
    *Current standard transmission

    Rev-limiter is at 10250RPM.
    Engine handling is absolutely uncomplicated.
Fuel consumption in range of 4liters/100km. Oil consumption normal.
Engine temperatur behavior nearly like at standard 300GTS engine (uncritical).

Yesterday we did a test drive at the highway. VMax with two riders (total driver weight 130kg) in "normal" seating position was 139kph/GPS after short lengh of run (rev. limiter).

Hey, can you tell me if MIU38 ECU plugs into the vespa harness? or do you need to make harness custom?

MIU 38ECU is equipped with a 34pin connector.
Vespa wiring harness plug till MJ 2013 is equipped with a 26pin connector.
Vespa wiring harness plug from MJ2014 till now is equipped with a 34mm pin connector.

It is necessary to modify the the harness that the 38mm MIU "work" in the Vespa.

thank you very much! Somehow I expected it to be...a bit oldschool. But not bad for my further work as I already found a longer rod for my stroker crank to compensate a different compression height piston and stroke.

compression height is center of wrist pin to edge of piston crown - dont know the american term for it?
I wont call the Piston I want to use high comp, higher then stock yes, but not over the top. Gains will come mainly from head work and bigger displacement.

If you try to install a longer connecting rod, think about the timing chain. 4 stroke engines arenīt so flexible than 2 strokes in this case .
